At the moment i am colouring in a new one i am checking ....love BC x

Now that I can believe. <ok>

After all, they only allow you crayons don't they?
But nice they allow you computer time to chat with your friends. :)

And FFS! make an effort to type a capital "I", as preposterous as your claims are you should at least make an effort at grammar, to go even a little way to back up your claim.

Thank you , if it looks like ****,smells like **** ,tastes like **** ,then its ...BC..x

Is it just me or has this thread got a lot of the BC's in it! Over-elaborate explanations when evidence proves otherwise.

I was a part- time proofreader for Macmillans when Studying for my Masters. Boring as ****, lasted about 6 months doing a few evenings a week after Uni but pay was okay and you got a free supper - not the fish variety, unfortunately.

The scripts we had to go through were books on medicine, theology, English lit texts, might as well have been about sewing for all I care. It was tedious work, and for 'junior' staff we only got a chapter of a book to go through, at most. Not until you hit the top editorial levels would you get a 'juicy text' or parts of a book to proof and edit.

So the likelihood that some random associate has been given the opportunity to proofread Keane's book, as per MRs comments, is preposterous. Just ****ing ludicrous. Especially some associate with a writing capability akin to that of a 5 year old wombat. Christ on a bike.

Random how dare you

This thread! <laugh>

Stu, save some face and admit you thought it was the first book or white lie not realising that the book was yet to be released. We all say dizzy things online from time to time. I did it the other day, I admitted me mistake and laughed it off with MR. Nowt wrong with a common sense lapse but this is farcical mate. Embarrassing for you. Admittance would be well received I reckon, even after the last 3 pages, allow yourself an inch of humility marra

PS, reverting to light hearted one liners isn't aiding your cause, it just looks like you've lied and are now avoiding the questioning, which is exactly what you're doing.

I think your "mate" is full of s**t.
Why on Earth would the publishers send out bits of Keanes book?
It's written by an experienced author in Roddy Doyle, who I would lay odds on has his own professional editor/proofreader.
Or was supplied one by the publishers.
To claim some random had been sent excerpts is preposterous.
Unless your "mate" is actually Doyles editor.

Editor's/ Proofreaders need the full book to check for discrepancies, where one part of the text contradicts another.
It isn't just about grammar.

I don't know to be fair. Maybe because members of the SfEP have paid for the privilege? And committed to gaining qualifications and such. It just coincided with what Stu had said so I thought I'd drop him a bit of back up while you guys threw him to the wolves lol.

I would quite happily pay them to let me proof read a book like Keanes.
As I have the morals of someone with very little morals, the good bits would be winging there way to one of the daily papers. (Not the SUN I may have no morals but do have some scruples left. )
Check out Nordics post above #209, he said so eloquently in a few lines that my rambling **** couldn't. :)
But then he has had practice at getting words right. <rofl>

And why the hell would we punish the Wolves board by hoying BC/Stu at them, cruel and inhumane.
