Seems Sturridge has signed a new contract with the Dippers, rumoured to be 150K a week.... nice work if you can get it.

  2. Sturridge is okay, but he isn't a top 4 striker, which is why none of the top 4 clubs went in for him.

Two of the top four have had him on their books and kicked him into touch, the other two wouldn`t even look at him <ok>

I disagree, I think he's a very good player who is very underrated.

Yes. I wanted us to go for him. Chelsea gave him away, IMO. He's certainly several steps up on anything we've got now.

Liverpool paid £12million for him. Bargain.

Just think, £28mil for both Sturridge & Welbeck. Pretty much what we paid for the misfiring Soldado.

  8. Come off it! He's another Darren Bent.

Sturridge is another Defoe, with all that it entails. Scores goals, puts in the work and will happily run in behind all day, but he won't hold the ball up much or win aerial duels.
Well worth what Liverpool paid for him and he'll pair up well with Balotelli, but neither is well suited to the lone role.
Lambert and Borini give them plenty of options, but I don't think that any of them are a Suarez or a Costa.

"Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, 25, who signed a new five-year deal with the club on Friday, has said he wants to become an actor once his football career is over."

He's certainly a fine actor when opposition defenders get near him...

Sturridge seems to have overlooked something:

He's signed a blank piece of paper. Strange contract.

  12. It's got to be said, that 'Pool managed to see off WBA, which is more than we were able to do.

  16. Jesus! Will 'Pool never learn?

I suppose, when the media storm hits, Rodgers will force all the players to wear tee-shirts bearing swastikas on them, in support of this Nazi!

    Appalling.

Like we haven't all (apart from Maggie of course) tried it.

  18. I haven't tried it. Although, I will confess, that I did once ask the Madame to ensure that all the midget transvestite nuns wear jack-boots before they tied me up and whipped my balls. I stopped short at "Hitler" taches or any form of Nazi regalia. I leave that sort of thing to Royals and perverts.

As you are a lawyer, can you let me know if that is enough for me to sue for libel?

    #8959
  20. The defense of "reasonable comment" would come to my aid, I believe.
