Liverpool believe the losses are excusable losses. I'm not a lawyer or an accountant so I shall wait and see. As for our form this season... par for the course. Rodgers Season 1. Bad first few months- then slowly improved. Season 2. Poor start, several lucky 1-0 wins- then improved rather quickly. Season 3. Poor start... as long as the patter continues and we do improve again I won't be concerned. Still think 4th behind Chelsea, City, and Arsenal is likely. It usually takes us a couple of months to get going under Rodgers. Chelsea City Arse Pool Spud Never United.
In season 1 and 2 you had a world class player capable of winning games on his own in Sewerez though, in season 3 you don`t have any world class players. I think United will sort their defence out eventually and put a run together to clinch top four with MCFC, CFC and AFC, especially as they have no cup games apart from FA Cup, that will be a massive advantage.
Your improvement last season coincided with Suarez returning. Not saying you won't improve this season but it's food for thought.
There's never been a year like this one. Chelsea and Man City seem very likely for the top two, Arsenal almost equally likely for third. Liverpool is the favorite for fourth, but you're in uncharted territory. It's easy to laugh at Man U now, but it would be strange if they don't turn it around, with all their talent (and considering I could get them turned around).Spurs and Everton have good enough teams to make a run, but it's Spurs and Everton. I'd be surprised to find a fan of either club who sincerely believes they'll get fourth.
See, I disagree with that. I think we, United and Everton have just as much chance of finishing 4th as do 'Pool. Plus, teams like Saints, Swansea and Villa, WHFC, Hull and Leicester, whilst not likely to contend for top 4, have more than enough ability to hurt the aspirations of those in the chasing pack. With Goofy gone, I really don't see 'Pool as a shoe-in to any competition this season.
Everton haven't improved their squad. Everyone around them has... yet they are still a fashionable 'smart' bet for fourth...
Everton's squad is still pretty good, but they've got the added games of a Europa League campaign to deal with. Even if that only costs them a handful of points, it'll probably be enough to derail a challenge for fourth.
Yeah, I was saying the same all summer. Interesting to see Everton's defence now struggling. Moyes got a lot of flack and Martinez got a lot of praise last year but I think Martinez is undoing the work Moyes put in to get a very organised defensive unit. It's all well and good being the second highest scorers in the league but they're leaking almost 3 a game!
They have played Chelsea, City and Arsenal already, YV. I agree about Martinez benefiting from the inherited Moyes defence, though. Leaking five goals against Palace and Leicester is a little worrying.
