"I see that Cameron is claiming that the Queen "purred" when he told her the vote was No."

Kinda kills the "lizard people" conspiracy theory if Her Maj is really a cat.

Funny how he "accidentally" said this in earshot of an entire camera crew while they were filming.

Of course, to say that he did this for the sole reason of politicizing the failed independence vote, which in turn would piss off Scots to the extent they'd vote SNP instead of Labour in next year's General Election, will see you get labelled as a conspiracy theorist with too much time on your hands that sees you concocting theories like this. What you won't get, however, is a denial that this is exactly what Cameron is doing.

My zeroth law of conspiracy theory is that the more absurdly implausible the
theory is, the more readily people seem to be willing to believe it.

I was going more along the lines of the more absurdly implausible the theory, the more likely that's what happened.

That may not increase the popularity of your cause amongst a large number of the English electorate!...

I have to say that Cameron's tactics have been, and are very blatant. Yet, Labour felt that they had no choice but to back his ploy to offer more devolution. Now they are hoisted on that petard.

As I mentioned before, Cameron is an arrogant fool. Had he accepted Salmond's original proposal of so called devo max as a third option on the ballot, I don't think the total independence question would have hardly got off the ground amongst the voting public.

What are the differences between 'devo max' and what is likely to be passed now ?

Really, I seem to remember you were saying "this is the end of the UK" two weeks ago.

Forgive me if I don't believe you this time, either :)

When I was living in Rome my housemates and I used to play a game called 'Nun Splitting'. Living around the corner from a convent we would often see pairs of nuns out in the streets, they weren't allowed out alone. Anyway if you ever saw two coming toward you, you had to try and 'split' them, as in walk in between them. I think they must have been aware of our game because they would go to extraordinary lengths not to allow someone to walk between them, stopping dead in their tracks, backing against the wall etc. One day I was walking along a particularly narrow pavement and saw two coming towards me, knowing that they wouldn't budge an inch to let me past and not being in a playful mood, I stepped into the road myself. A second later I was lying on the cobbles in utter agony having been mowed down by a cyclist, who was also in a bloody and crumpled heap. The nuns took one look at us and quickly scurried off without saying a word or asking if we were alright! The moral of the story - never be polite to a nun, and always split them.

I imagine in your glossary of terms 'Splitting Nuns' would be an entirely different activity altogether HIAG!

A novice nun is walking down the road when she drops her cross and says ****." Oh f** I said s**t, oh s**t I said f**, oh f** I said s**t, oh balls to it, I didn't want to be a f**ing nun in the first place."
