Yes ... we'll see. Sensible reply so thanks for that. If Dr. Allam can't get it passed by the FA, I suppose there's little more he can do, In Holland PSV is, if I remember correctly, connected with Philips. In Hull, and I presume elsewhere, teams were named after where they worked .... Ideal Standard, Reckitts etc. so unless none of these teams were allowed in the FA because of their names, Dr. Allam may yet win and I'd applaud that. As I said, Hull Comet became Hull City and things change, even after 100 odd years .... Dr. Allam ended years of tradition at Hull City by having no respect for transfer records breaking them at will, the tradition of not even making the FA Cup quarter finals, gone, the same with the semi finals, he went the whole hog and dared take Hull City to an FA Cup final and into Europe for the first time ... I suspect he may actually know what he's doing when it comes to running a football club .... certainly more than a nurse tweeting pictures of his expletive filled hip flask. CTWD? I reckon they're finished.

What do you do for a living?

Our previous history wasn't tradition, it is just our history. Supporting City when thousands of Hull school kids supported, Liverpool, Leeds or Manchester United is something to shout about. The fact we were crap, isn't.

When Assem Allam sells, or passes on we'll see the transfer records broken again and again. Its the nature of football. So in your eyes would that make him less of an owner than the next one or the next one? For me, despite the name change, he saved our club and deserves to go down in our history in the same company as Harold Needler. As it is he hasn't reached those heights yet and his legacy is likely to be tarnished by his outbursts. Shame but that's life. I'd like him to stay, dump the name change and work with all the supporters, including Mark Gretton, to try and make sure last season wasn't a one off. Whether that happens depends on Assem and Ehab Allam.

If he knew what he was doing he wouldn't have fallen out with the Council because Geraghty was rude to him. He has run out of money and is running out of ideas. Cutting the pay of the programme sellers may help cut a couple of thousand off the wage bill, but its nothing compared to what we need to get in to maintain and improve our Premier League status.

I see you have a poor regard for nurses.

The difference being is that I write to that person directly. The person you are smearing possibly doesn’t even know that you’re writing about them to even have a chance to defend themselves.

I’ve not done that on this forum and I’ll happily address any such issues if and when they arise.

And you?

So you're not denying his actions were hypocritical at best, a downright lie at worst. Now, perhaps you'd like to criticise the all the people who have anonymously abused Dr Allam via this board. By your own definitions, it's unacceptable.

you can't possibly be suggesting that hull comet was named after the electrical retailers...

On a slight tangent -how has the weather been on the Solent this weekend?

No it isn't. The Allams have had their business case reviewed and it was found lacking. Experts in the field have considered the general principle and few if any feel it's credible.

That's hardly surprising given that there is no business case for something that's clearly just a petulant reaction to the local authority.

ha ha ha I won't budge. Alleged "experts" (define an "expert") disagree all the time. I still say Allam has got FAR more right than he has got wrong and should be allowed to show if he's right with this idea as well. If he's wrong and City don't bring in more money in sponsorship, CTWD et al will have been proved right and the name can be changed back again. CTWD making such a fuss about something which needn't be permanent.

People have asked him to do that time and time again, but he's not managed it. He's said himself and it's confirmed by his son that there are no deals at all linked to the name change.

You're making the mistake of thinking it's a financial, rather than a petulant decision. You seem to have come very, very late to the party, but the points you seem to be stuck on have been put to bed time and time again. In all the discussions, there's been little if any evidence to support a change for business reasons.

You even make the mistake of asking CTWD to do something that's not in their gift. The FA said no in April, that's when CTWD ended as a single issue group. It's the FA and associated experts you need to be asking.

It would be interesting to know how much has been spent by the club on this fiasco. Lawyers don't come cheap, there must have also been many man hours by club employees in relation to the submission to the FA. The cost of the ballot, the time cost relating to press conferences and interviews. On top of that is the lost revenue from regular "customers" not buying tickets/season passes/merchandise.

Good points but I doubt, if there were no commercial benefits to the club from a name change it would have been chased with such vigour. I've heard some information that has leaked out of the club about deals that were on offer which, coupled with the alleged £1million deal would have taken sponsorship conditional on a name change up to £3million in the first year alone. Because many of the deals, until finalised or announced are confidential, the information we need in this regard is not available. Of course, if we really cared about our heritage, we'd all be campaigning to be re-named "Hull Comet"

You're talking absolute bollocks. There was no deal conditional on a name change. Ehab stated so publicly, and even if he hadn't, only a fool would believe something so ridiculously far-fetched.

You've been told a load of bollocks on the deal and the 'Hull Comets' piffle you're pressing.

You're churning out stuff that's been done to death. You'd be better reading up on stuff before trying to repost old hat and showing your ignorance.

You're looking poor like a weak troll by the post.

The costs you are wondering about are peanuts compared to the dosh The Allams have laid on the line bringing Bruce (x2), Brady, Meyler, McGregor, Quinn, Boyd, Sagbo, Aluko, Huddlestone, Livermore, Hernandez, Diame, Elmohamady, Snodgrass, Fryatt, Proswitz, Harper, Ben Arfa ... need I go on? .... to Hull City .... if City go into the Championship or out of the league, I'll still support them but I prefer them being in the Premier League since clubs that get relegated often go into free-fall .... I trust the Allams not to "do a Bartlett" on Hull City but ... well, we'll just have to hope whoever replaces the Allams has the best interest of Hull City at heart .... however I'm quite sure whoever buys Hull City will have no connection with Hull and may not even live in the UK ....

How much have the Allam's laid out, as opposed to allowing Hull City AFC a debt?

Where do you get that idea?

You wrote, paraphrasing "He knows more than a nurse". The clear implication is that a nurse knows less than a generator manufacturer on how to run a football club. Secondly, Mark is a lecturer and the implication is that a nurse is also than a lecturer otherwise why write like that?

Mr. Allam is a generator manufacturer and a successful businessman. Would you agree?

He runs a succesful generator company. That's the business he's in. Being succesful in one business is no qualification for being good at another, or bright or better than anyone else.

You're talking absolute bollocks. There was no deal conditional on a name change. Ehab stated so publicly, and even if he hadn't, only a fool would believe something so ridiculously far-fetched.

He also ignores an awful lot of replies that pop his arguments. It's hardly surprising, any argument on a business front is flawed from the get go.
