Nowhere near the level of Neuer/Courtois imo

Ter Stergen who Barca have just signed will become WC as well

German's seem to just have a conveyor belt of WC keepers

Would also still rate Buffon ahead of Hart

If Joe Hart played for a team outside of the top 7 in the UK he would be found out totally. He's not terrible but nowhere near the best in the league. Not a patch on Mannone.

Neuer isn't as good as he's made out to be by the German press, the guy turned into a complete calamity flapper against Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena last season.

Hart isn't a world top 10 keeper, he's nowhere near in fact. Poor distribution and organisation, he's just very fortunate to have one of the best defensive units in the world sat in front of him.

It gets a bit silly after a while English/Scottish/Irish pundits all claiming 'best in the world' statuses for players in the Premier League, most of them never watch anything other than Premier League or Champions League football.

They have consistently spewed Bale and Suarez's names in the same sentences as Ronaldo and Messi for the least 5 years now, it's absolutely ridiculous, the players are worlds apart.

I reckon (in no particular order) Just from the PL:

Begovic, Mannone, Mignolet, De Gea & Curtois are all better than him - probably Cech as well.

I said when he was ****ing everything up last season that, if he played for us or Stoke, everyone would be clammering for him to be dropped from England. He is nowhere near the top 10 keepers IMO

Hart has been a very lucky man in his club & national career.

As people have said he doesn't organise his defence well and struggles with distribution ..... he's only just in the top 10 of the Premier League <whistle>

Did you know his real name is Charles?

He has major flaws in his game. The Wilshere goal on Saturday was terrible. In that situation goalkeepers should be making themselves as big as possible (think Schmeichel) instead he allowed wilshere to score by dropping. He didnt cover any more of the goal in doing so which is even more worrying. He has a tendency to fall down straight which I dont get. He did the same at the world cup for Suarez's second goal. It should have hit him in the chest but he went down amd allowed Suarez to stick it in the top corner.

He's got a reputation off making a few point-blank saves 3 years ago, basically strikers kicking the ball at him.

His angry face is what tickles me though, he looks like a Chinese crested dog when he's shouting at his midfielders to get up the pitch.

Not anywhere near the top 10.

Looked as if he would be when he came through, but no. Very good keeper though.

Someone said Neuer ain't as good as press make out, absolute insanity. Best shot stopper on the planet, best on crosses, best at reading and getting off his line, easily numero uno.

Sirigu at PSG is a stunning keeper, Curtois obviously, Begovic is class, de Gea is getting close to Neuer, could get there, Rui Patricio of Sporting/Portugal is absolutely superb and still improving, Lloris too.

Stacks of good keepers, many better than Hart.

I was referring to the top end of the world mate, we have 2 cracking stoppers, but not up there with the top few.

That was me mate and I stick by what I said. I didn't say he wasn't a good keeper, he obviously is a great keeper but he's not this immovable object the pundits make him out to be.

You mention his reading of the game and getting off his line, this is where I think he's flawed. He comes and does silly things far, far too often for my liking. I'm certain me and you have had this conversation before by the way. He's absolutely nowhere near the likes of Schmeichel, yet last night again pundits reeling off 'is he the greatest ever' crap. He's not, he's not even the best in the world.

The best goalkeeper in the world for me, when he's playing is Petr Cech, as an all rounder he's as close as you're gonna get to a brick wall.

Oh mate, he'll never be close to Schmeichel, but this is the best ever you are comparing him too, Schmeichels only flaw was being Danish, had he been from a glamorous nation we'd still talk about him every day!

I honestly think Neuer is the best since though, the most complete. Cech has always been prone to the odd bottling of a cross and refereeing protection at a CL club has aided him, I don't dispute for a second mind that he's been a fantastic goalkeeper.

Italy have had some cracking keepers that never really got talked about cos Buffon, quite rightly, was immovable, but Neuer, we can't agree on this one, the off his line stuff is more often than not incredible.

He also distributes the ball superbly, hand and feet, and his reflex stops are stunning.

    He's a sensational keeper.

That's cool pal, our opinions are not polar opposite.

My point was only that he's not as good as the pundits make him out to be, which he's not, because pundits are consistently saying things like he's gonna be the greatest ever.

He's had enough bad games though, I remember him being all over the place for Schalke at Old Trafford, probably one of Fergie's worst teams he's ever put on a pitch stuck four past him, he had a stinker. I don't have to go back that far though, but I know he's obviously progressed a lot since back then (2011/12 maybe?) but it's definitely in his nature to this day to have a mare.
