PLT - Im guessing, like me, you found the "perhaps" in that statement hilarious, but also pretty sad?

I like this idea, no harm in trying it, it might be a pile of unworkable poo, but it just might actually work. Try it in a youth comp, see how it goes.

Blatter needs to go though too.
 
I agree, we should give it a try, but as simple as it sounds it might take a lot more effort in actually using it, also they could just use it to towards ends of games to kill off the momentum of the opposing team.
 
Association Football has been going since what the early 1860's it's grown in popularity steadily as a fairly simple game without too many stop start second guessing by managers.

I'd bet we'd have as many false calls as fair ones and we'd then miss as many fair ones due to false calls early. Why both at the end of the day? Do we really have our football spoiled by bad refereeing or are there not enough incidents with in one season to matter?

I think sometimes yes it is spoiled, but ruling out one or two big decisions a week isn't going to change that. It's the 'look at me' types like we had for Lokeren at home who need sorting out.

I think my fear is that football ends up like Formula 1 where it's no longer about who's the best driver or which is the best car but whose the best at changing tires and filling up the tank (that might not be a 100% valid analogy as I don't know anything about F1 :emoticon-0102-bigsm )
 
What happens when the referee waves play on stating no foul, and then the ball doesn't go out of play for 5 minutes to review the foul, then the referee gives the foul after a 'challenge'. what happens then I wonder.
Keep it how it is in my opinion
 
Was watching some American Football last night, one of the Quarterbacks ran in for a touchdown right in the corner with his arm outstretched - a great bit of athleticism. It looked like he was being called out of bounds but all touchdown incidents are reviewed and within seconds it was shown that he had indeed just managed to score before his knee went down to the side.

Without video technology he would've been called out, unfairly. With it - which barely took any time - he got the touchdown he deserved.

When there's a goal or red card incident there's a big delay in play anyway, as players crown the referee to complain. I see no harm in having a 30 second pause while those major incidents are reviewed on video, with clarity, rather than 2 minutes of players getting in the officials' faces trying to overturn the decision.

If managers get 1-2 challenges a game they're not going to use it on something trivial and it could actually save time overall.
 
Lets also bring in a count down style tune with hawk eye technology every time the ball goes near the edge of play.

The linesman should through little handkerchiefs onto the pitch when the spot an infringement.

We should have penalties at the end of every game where there is no clear winner to decide the result.

The ball should be brought to the penalty spot on a little remote controlled car.

We should have penalty goals if someone gets fouled in the box - no penalty required, just give the team a goal.

The refs should be miked up so we can hear Clattenburg jizzing in his pants over Fabregas.

Also, cheerleaders, goal music, glitter cannons etc for every goal.

All these things would improve our dull game no end!

Christ, some of you want to go back to fire and sticks.

Goal line tech works brilliantly and isn't intrusive, this sounds like a great initiative. Might have saved us two points against Stoke..
