That's not saying much is it? I personally think Southampton's culture stands up pretty well when up against Skippy the Bush Kangeroo & Rolf Harris. Christ, even Mungo Jerry pisses all over INXS and Kylie.
gotta say conman i dont like your face. dont take this the wrong way - not a personal insult as i havent met you, just that your icon gives me the geebies. reminds me of an old perverted thomas the tank engine!
Getting frustrated with the press deciding that we are interested in all these players - Danns, Sharp etc. And then some of our fans get the impression we missed out on signing them. The fact of the matter is that we were probably never interested in the player and it is just press talk (certainly not for £3.25m). In the case of this article, not only do I doubt we made a bid, but I also doubt he has pledged his future to Donny. So basically this story is a load of rubbish in response to an assumption based on another load of rubbish press rumour.
....although to answer your question rather than knock the press: I think it sounds a lot for a player who has probably reached his level / peak. Would like to see a big, fast centre back and a pacey striker come in. Regarding CM - perhaps give spiderman, chaplow and hammond the chance to prove themselves until January - I would like to see Guly given in the middle as he looked like he did damage in that position in Italy. All that assumes we keep hold of Chamberlain and Lallana of course!
anyone know what lansbury is up to? would be a fantastic signing - one of the reasons norwich went up this year
Yeah, you're right, you forgot about Crocodile Dundee though and Fosters and Ned Kelly and dingo's stealing baby's. I'm glad you opened up my eyes. Good Christ. Anyway, back to the original topic of the thread.
Disappointing if true because I think Sharp is a good player at this level. However, I don't think it will be because of financial reasons, more like him not wanting to move this far awat from his family. He probably thinks there are plenty of clubs in the north who would pay him as well as we would, and thats probably fair enough. Location does come into a players consideration when thinking about a move.
I'm pleased that we're bidding large amounts like £3.25m, shows that we're intent on strengthening with decent players.
looking on the bright side- if the story is true, it shows a willingness to splash the cash and may say that the reason we have not bought anyone new in is that the big boys can not find anyone that would be a first choice rather than a bench warmer. Of course the foxes have bought most of the available players.
And if we trawl back through the rumour wish list and other posts, I believe a certain Mr Fatletiss (c'est Moi!) was calling Emmanuel Frimpong for several weeks now ...... medal and gold star whenever please.
