Playing devils advocate here, but I'd wager he chose Premier League football over Primeira Liga football rather than Hull City over Benfica.

I hope you feel the same about Cambiasso. Because he clearly isn't joining Leicester City because it's Leicester City.

Slightly different scenario because of age, but he's said that he wants to try out Premier League football before he retires. So why wouldn't I feel the same?


It's the world we live in, if you think that Hernandez has thought "There's only one club I want to play for and that's Hull City" then you're massively mistaken.

No, but if I see a player that turns out to be amazing, I'm more likely to check him out IRL and build up a knowledge of him. Nobody is claiming to be a scout, but it doesn't mean you can't have a decent knowledge of players from abroad.
