Stoke's bid for Assaidi was accepted but they couldn't agree personal terms
Assaidi wanted to be paid- and didn't want to have to carry water to the real players.
Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe, 18, will join Championship side Bolton on loan -
I have big expectations for Ibe, and don't think he would have got the time he needed this year, the loan is good. I think he'll be in our first team next year if he carries on like this.
we've loaned out ilori, aspas, tex, alberto and now Ibe. Anyone else think we're actually still pretty thin :/. I would have though Ibe was much needed for 4 competitions this year!
Short term, yes, he would have been useful, long term, he needs the experience to be good for us next year.
Really? Thought was being quoted at around £14m a few weeks back? I was doubtful on him to start with but I'm starting to warm to him a bit and come around to the idea of signing him.
Deadline day nears... inflation, harder for them to find a replacement.
The only advantage is he is older than when he was at City so might of matured a bit, but don't hold your breath.
He's had a few birthday cakes given to him acknowledged by the club since leaving City...

I'd rather Balotelli than no one. He knows the prem, he's young, and his value is unlikely to drop below £10m so it's no big loss if we shift him next summer
Me to. Sure, Falcao, Cavani, etc, would have been better if realistic- but if it's Balotelli or Eto'o- as much as I dislike Balo- he's better than Eto'o...
Same price as Bony though- wouldn't we better off with him?
Rodgers categorically said we won't be in for Balotelli.
I seem to recall that too... although, that was before we couldn't sign Cavani and Falcao (theoretically).
We're getting Cech
I like Cech. Probably still better than Migs.
Mancini Managerial Honours
Ah, your usual Mourinho butt sniff. I see nothing in Jose's history where he won with a club which wasn't the biggest club in the country, financially when he took over. He's also always left a club weeker than he found it- buying peak, or past peak players for high transfer prices, and then leaves the club with old players who are on huge wages.
He's not a long term solution... he's a good manager, but not one of the best- certainly not a long term thinker. A short term fixer-upper if you have a lot of dosh. He can't stay anywhere long term anyway because he makes everyone angry wherever he goes.
That's actually a key word for Balo, discipline, at other clubs under other managers his abilities and energy have been misdirected and unfocused... maybe it was down to being young as well. With some age on him and a better set up we could turn him into a really coveted striker.
