I thought all that stuff was part and parcel of the middle class Leftism, you know the type of person who regularly denounces the tastes of the lower classes (reality tv watching, fast food eating, supermarket shopping) while considering themselves an egalitarian <whistle>

But in the long term Scargill was right. Once the Miners were crushed the whole manufacturing industry in the UK became virtually extinct.

Useless fact of the day: the number of days lost to strikes fell from 29.5 million in 1979 when Thatcher took power, to 1.9 million in 1986.
