If only "proven" players were worth putting your faith into then the "unproven" players would never become "proven". Same goes for managers.
Baffled that a fair few people on here and twitter are actually saying they'd prefer to keep Cork over Morgan
So what about the rumours(atm) that Shaw was promised he could leave 2 seasons ago but was convinced to stay one more year by Cortese? If true you then can't blame the board for Shaw leaving as they are just giving him what he wanted. So basically Cortese could had said the same to Lallana and Lovren as well?
Of course However there are people criticising him before the season has started and saying he has not proven anything and has no experience. None of this is true. Opinions are fine but if they also include incorrect nonsense as ways of trying to back them up then it all becomes a bit daft
You're definitely going for the "most sensible and logical new poster" award! Don't worry, we'll beat the logic out of you soon.....
I don't blame the board for Shaw leaving. If it's a case of either they all left last year or they all left this year, then the only difference is we got one more year out of them. How can you criticise Cortese for that? There's no way he made that promise to Lovren anyway, because he only signed last summer.
Rooney wanted to leave Man U. But I'm picking him to stay over Welbeck every day of the week. Same here with Morgan and Cork.
If it came down to quality, then no, of course not. But, Morgan's heart is not in it. Why would you want a player like that over someone like Cork. That baffles me. You really expect Morgan to let bygones be bygones? Not. Gonna. Happen.
It happens all the time in football. Players demand a move, get refused, play a good season and move on a year later. No problem IMO.
Different. Rooney wanted more money. Also, staying put, he knew he was still in with a chance of trophies, CL football etc.
Why do you think Cork's heart is in it? Sounds very much like he wants to go to me, going by the movement on this transfer, and his dad's whining.
I'm not criticising Cortese, I am saying it takes some blame off the board with the players going(yes they still have been naive with info to the fans).
Sorry but you're the one making a massive assumption, not me. Cork has always played with passion and commitment. You're argument is based on his dad's twitter account. Well done.
The board isn't to blame for players wanting out (and nor is anyone other than the players themselves and their agents), but it's their responsibility to handle the situation as well as they can, and I don't think they have at all. There are huge inconsistencies in what they tell us is happening and what actually happens, and they don't seem to have anything under control, because they probably aren't close enough with the players. Part of their responsibility is to ensure that they have a good working relationship with everyone beneath them and that everyone is on the same page.
Telling players they can leave, then running off half a season before they did? I'm pretty sure you can criticise him for doing that.
