You got me. But Caulker and Rio both played in the PL last season, wheras Upson (same age as Rio) was in the championship. To suggest you'd take him over those 2 is ludicrous really Moore was the only one I had to struggle with. But if we're talking in terms of who's going to do a best job keeping our sides in the PL right now- I pick Dunne over him every time. And i'll keep mentioning it whilst the likes of PF are dreaming up bizarre Usain Bolt-based counter arguments. How many modern footballers have stats about their current pace? I've never heard of a 14 year old child being faster than when they become an adult athlete. I don't need stats, I've watched him for years and seen him outpace every single opponent he's come up against. Here's another one for you- if you best striker was a failure in the PL, how do you think your 2nd best striker's going to fare? (Vardy). I see all your attacking hopes lying on the shoulders of an unproven 28yr old with 14 championship goals last season.
My mate's sister's aunt's friends dog groomer has just spotted Esteban buying popcorn at Morrisons on his way to watching the Inbetweeners 2 movie. His relaxed nature suggested all is formalised and he is as good as ours......you heard it hear first!
Grifter if you want to believe he is the fastest footballer in the world then go for it. It still doesn't hide the fact he is quite **** As of yet all we have to go on is last season and you finished 22 points behind us which is a lot. You need to improve your squad to match ours hence why you have been in the market a lot more then us. We have a lot of faith in our team which no one cares less if the media and opposition fans don't agree with. They haven't seen us 2 years ago and how we evolved last year. Prem is a different kettle of fish but one were all confident we capable of performing in. Many teams have come up and more then held their own in the prem while some have struggled. QPR could do really well or be a complete car crash like last time. Same goes for us So bring up facts about what your players did at their secondary school sports day is complete laughable. Pace is an assets not an essential in football, we proved despite how fast and good your think Onouha is he just isn't fast or good enough.
Apparently even East Midlands Today are now saying we should complete the deal soon I reckon it will be done and dusted tomorrow one way or another
Awful spelling aside, this is why you are not best positioned to make a prediction on how we'll do this season. Perhaps the most poorly-informed comment I've read in ten years of using football forums. Congratulations. And if you think we play "lump it" football (a QPR fan accusing us of that is absolutely hilarious by the way), then you're in for a shock.
Apart from Nugent in that clip you just watched, right? In all seriousness, I would take Upson over Rio, but that's nothing to do with their ability (I wouldn't want to play either of them in the Premiership). I'm still trying to work out that signing tbh. Actually wouldn't have minded seeing Caulker here. We do need another CB, perhaps we'll look to get one in on loan closer to the deadline. Our defence are in for a baptism of fire with our opening fixtures, will be interesting to see how Morgan and whoever may partner him will get on. But they deserve a chance, and I'm happy to give them it. As for your comments regarding Nugent, I honestly believe he has come a long way since his last stint in the Premier League. Clever footballer, but of pace about him. Not relied on as the "main man" to grab the goals, as he was at Portsmouth and Burnley. Bit less pressure on his shoulders. What impressed me most last season was the number of assists. As for Vardy, who knows how he'll get on? He has bundles of pace, and I'm looking forward to seeing him play in the big league. "Unproven" isn't always a negative, you know. The Blackpool side that went up, "unproven" is an understatement, and perhaps the underestimation by the opposition is what led to them starting the season so well. The element of surprise could work in our favour. All I know is, this "unproven" lot absolutely smashed the Championship last season. They sure as hell deserve their chance to show that they can do. What do you suggest we do? "Yeah, cheers guys for getting us here. But you see, none of you have played in the Premier League before, so we're gona have to sell you all and replace you with those who have. Don't let the door hit you on the way out..." If it doesn't work out, well, there's always a January transfer window. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and I wouldn't get too excited if we are, say, bottom in November. Palace proved that no matter how bleak things may look, it's not over 'til it's over. We have a fantastic team spirit, and to outright state that these players who walked the Championship just aren't good enough for the PL is a bit naive, perhaps wishful thinking on your part. Truth is, nobody knows... As I've said before, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts, and just because individually we may look weak to you, doesn't mean it to be true.
Is this thread supposed to be about Cambiasso? I thought it was the Grifter thread! Yes they did. He'll be a great signing. Or will he, because he doesn't have Prem experience.
On the other hand, I heard he was under-7 school egg and spoon race champion. Now you don't lose that composure and balance. Cracking signing.
Yeah, but that was in Italy. We're the Buenos Aires-born Argentinian international is from. EDIT: "egg and spoon race champion", "Cracking signing" was this a deliberate pun?
This unproven tag makes me laugh. Luis Suarez was unproven in a decent league when Liverpool signed him, Cristiano Ronaldo was completely unproven and unheard of when Man U signed him Writing some off for being unproven is absurd to say the least. As for not being proven Kasper Schmeichel proved for us for 3 years and now with Denmark he is more then Premier League class Jeff Schlupp, Ritchie De Laet, Matty James and Danny Drinkwater have all spent time with Man U and proven class in the championship so theres clearly pedigree there Leonardo Ulloa scored 39 goals in 64 starts in La Liga, but hey that probably doesn't count Jamie Vardy was amazing last season and to be honest thats all anyone has to go on and were all confident he will do well David Nugent has changed his game over the last 12 months and he is now a better all round footballer Riyad Mahrez and Anthony Knockaert are match winners on their day pure and simple. Moment of magic can open up any defences, and Mahrez has that eye for a killer ball that very few footballers have in the world. (Vardy's 2nd at Barnsley was the perfect example) Andy King has 25 international caps so he is used to playing against better standard players Wasyl only has the 60 Poland caps and Champions League experience with Anderlecht So yeah while some of it might not be Prem League experience (Some sort of superb league in some peoples eyes) we have a very experienced group they blend perfectly well with our youth. Alot of our younger players still have a lot of experience for example Andy King only being 25 but having nearly 300 career appearances to his name Experiences comes in all different forms
Okay dear you just keep repeating that he's "****", I think that line of discussion has probably come to a close. Wait, a moment ago you were giving our defence grief supposedly being slow- and now pace isn't essential? Nice backtracking. Awful spelling because I stuck an extra E in the name of a player most people have never heard of? Sorry Wordsworth. I saw Onouha getting to the ball at the same time as Nugent, even though Nugent was at full speed before he started running. Onouha caught up with him in about 10 strides. Are you really this stupid or are you just Wumming? Analogizing being the fastest youth sprinter in the country with an egg and spoon race. You're like the special kid at the back of the class that requires his own personalised explanation. I can guide you through it- being very very fast at 14, means you'll be even faster at 27. For 100m 10.8 would be a very conservative estimate for current speed. Do a bit of googling if you don't know how fast that is If your posters stopped saying ridiculous things I'd stop replying
Grifter face facts. That Squirrel gave Nugent more of a race then Onuoha. And yes pace is an asset not an essential. Its just an asset you don't have
My bad, apologies It's hard to sift out the jokes from all the other rubbish I'm responding to atm. This is the last I'll post on the topic: "World Football: Fastest 100m sprinters"- http://www.givemesport.com/347454-world-football-fastest-100m-sprinters "22 fastest players in world football right now"- http://bleacherreport.com/articles/769307-the-top-22-fastest-players-in-world-football-right-now
**** me this took a turn for the weird!! _______________________________________ PS I don't think I've seen a more confident self assured set of MB posters since perusing the Derby boards pre Wembley! Talk is cheap
And in the real world this report means diddly squat. How dare David Nugent outpace Nedum Onuoha when a report says Onuoha is faster
