Not 100% sure what Bruce will do. Long could have had 3 v Trencin and Sagbo had probably his best game for City. Aluko made a decent impression when he came on so Brucey will have a nice little headache. Personally I'd stick with front 2 from Thursday
That's disappointing for Sagbo after a great game on Thursday. It would have been much easier for Brucie to start him after a good game than it will be to drop Jela after 2 games to bring Sagbo back in.
Sagbo is banned so I'd start with Long and Jelavic. Aluko and Ince to come off the bench in the 2nd half to inject more pace into the attack if needed.
I reckon SB will go with this, though if Sagbo had been available I think he deserves a starting place alongside Long.
I'd go with Jelavic and Long if Jelly is fit enough after hardly any pre season action. Sagbo would present a dilemma if selectable but I don't think Aluko has done enough despite his winner, to displace Jelavic who's been very good since signing.
Pre-season is more about fitness than season starters. Bruce was happy with Long and Jelly last season so they will start and other players may replace them after 60 or 70 minutes of matches and then Bruce will decide whether to change starters after a couple of Premier League matches.
Other then lb and 3rd cb the team picks itself: Mcgregor Brady/robertson???? I would go with robbo Chester Davies Mcquire/bruce???? Think bruce will get nod Elmo Hudd Snpdgrass Livermore Jelavic Long Expect ince and aluko for subs
Sagbo did well the other night but has got to do it consistently when given the chance something he didn't really do last season
Got to be Jelavic and Long with Ince or Snodgrass in the hole McGregor Chester Bruce Davies Elmo Livermore Hudd Snodgrass Ince Jelavic Long Jakupovic Rosenior McShane Robertson Brady Aluko Boyd
There's no way that's going to be the team, he's not going play Snodgrass as LWB, he's not going to play Ince behind a front two in our first game of the season(particularly as it's away) and he's never going to put Boyd in the squad ahead of Meyler. After Robertson's impressive start, he definitely should be started at LB, Rosie's also had a good pre-season and deserves the RB spot(starting with our two best full-backs on the bench would be mental) and as we probably won't risk Maguire we should go with Chester and Davies in the middle, as we look more comfortable playing 4-4-2 anyway.
It'll be 3-5-2 Mcgregor Chester Bruce Davies Elmo Rosenior Livermore hudd Meyler Jelavic long Think Brucey will be tempted to play Robertson but will go for a steady head first game and give him his debut at home.
I forgot about Meyler! Maybe they will play 3-6-1 like in the Cup Final? It gave us a lot of options in midfield.
