Nice loophole - so next time a team wins a first leg 4-0, and is losing 5-0 in the return leg - they can field an ineligible player so that UEFA apply their 'standard' 3-0 score line - and therefore promote that team through to the next round (despite the fact they would have lost had they not fielded the ineligible player). Do you honestly believe this is coincidence!? There are backhanders going on somewhere - either that are UEFA are a complete bunch of incompetent fools.
Us getting through is pure filth, they pumped us, but Legia only have themselves to blame for being stupid ****s, and there certainly was no conspiracy.
Fully agree on points 1 and 2. Point 3 if correct means UEFA haven't got a clue how to maintain sporting integrity.
Is very very funny. Sevconians, who have emerged from cover in the past ten days and suddenly wanted to talk football are again in a permarage muttering about conspiracies. Apparently Peter Lawell runs the world.
This **** is actually retarded. Why would any team who won a first leg by 3 or more goals deliberately put an ineligible player in the squad? Legia ****ed up, Celtic were the team who benefitted from it. End of ****ing story.
Guess you cant read - Team A win leg 1 4-0, Team A losing second leg 5-0 - throw on an ineligible player. Leg 2 awarded 3-0 to team b (consistent rule by UEFA) - team A go through 4-3 (rather than lose 5-4). Don't tell me - rule wont be applied as Team A benefits from cheating. Anyone who is happy to progress in this way clearly does not value competition and progression through performance.
Are you suggesting that if you were losing 5-0, you could play your trump card of fielding an ineligible player and get two goals chopped off. Really? No, I'm with him. His argument has no holes in it whatsoever. Firstly, it's only common sense to have at least one ineligible player on the bench at all times. And secondly, I'm sure he's right that UEFA would indeed punish the winning team for the losing team fielding an ineligible player. Foolproof logic.
Of course we would rather play better and win, but a wins a win regardless of how you come about it! That fact its clearly annoyed some people makes it all the better!
aye, you're right, Celtic shouldn't go through coz they abide by the rules and Warsaw didn't. You're a fanny. Seriously.
Actual rule is "Any team sanctioned with a forfeit shall be deemed to have lost the match 3-0 (5-0 in futsal competetions), unless the actual result is less favourable to the member association or club, in which case it will stand" So that'll be a fail from the Pricymeister.
