I feel like Sagbo really suits a 4-2-3-1 Greegsy Rosie Chezzy Davies Robertson Thudd Livermore Ince Aluko Snoddy Sagbo With Brady, Long, Elmo and Jela all available to replace the front four
Agree. He made a great run away from goal and to near post when Elmo had the ball on the right (first half) and Elmo just blasted ball across goal. He was best player tonight. Bruce said after the game he has come back fitter and stronger. Hope he can keep that up
I rate Sagbo, I reckon if he got on a goal streak he could be unstoppable, he's powerful and works hard for the team even out of position
None of the desire to strike true up close running at goal was there. Sagbo's hold up play was Good. to many runs in the box were mistimed for any result. Longy should of put 2 away in 1st half. Elmo ran the wing again lively only to lose out in passes. I could see the different styles of play in effect. Snodge's work rate was good. just positional fine tuning needed & that will tighten. A few rustbuckets out there tonight in City's team. Overall result went the right way.
Strikers need goals!if Sagbo hadn't scored in the 85 minute at Brighton last night wouldn't have happened and 30,000 of us would have been nowhere near Wembley
Can't ****ing stand pillocks that claim a striker is not doing his job if not scoring. Anyone could see last night that he was without a doubt one of the best players on the pitch if not the best. So does all his hold up play suddenly get discounted due to not scoring a goal? All the knock downs he won are void?
Bruce said last night, that in France he played wide in a front three and we don't play that system here, so he's had to adapt and he's ver pleased with how he's progressing. TigerRoo can mock all he likes, but Sagbo was MotM and Aluko won us the game, so I'm glad he's not picking the team.
from what i remember of Sago last season was he was played too deep but held the ball up really well but our attack was always too slow to capitalise . I think with Sagbo feeding Ince (especially) and Long we have a source for our attack to receive the ball from deep . I hope he gets more game time this season
Sagbo was immense - hold up play was superb, with excellent energy levels. You have to be able to hold the ball in the final third to build attacks. It's something we didn't do well enough last season. His praise is well deserved - I was impressed.
Haha, the fact Sagbo was mom really upsets you doesn't it. You'd rather he played **** than prove you wrong. I can hear your teeth grinding from here
Sagbo was instrumental in the winning goal last night too. Me made the forward move that got us up the pitch in dangerous area before laying it off to Elmo who crossed first time into the box for the goal. Top notch performance. Far better than Jelavic.
I hope Sagbo and Aluko get 30 goals between them next season - I'll be the first to sing their praises and I most certainly do not want either of them to 'play like s**t" but meanwhile, tell me how many goals he's scored again, I keep forgetting. By the way, if a player is classed as a 'striker' he's there to score goals. If he's played on the wing then he's a winger and he's there to supply goals. A 'hold-up' player is an excuse for not scoring. If he 'holds up' play then the defense have time to get back don't they. I hope Sagbo proves me wrong but I have seen nothing from him to suggest that he not even 'average' at this level but that's just my opinion.
