After a reasonable start the wee fat **** was found wanting when it became clear he didn't actually have a plan B. Fortunately the opposition shot themselves in the foot and really didn't have any answers to the questions being asked. Fatboy ended up well ahead but it was a close run thing for much of the time.

Enough about the Rangers game though. How did the big debate pan out?

Most punters up here expected Salmond to obliterate Darling in the debate. There's not much real opposition in Scotland for the first minister in the Scottish parliament. A lot of the more experienced Labour MSP's lost their seats for a variety of reasons at the last election. I thought it would be interesting to see what he did against somebody a bit more experienced. Because of prior expectations I think the vast majority saw it as a victory for Darling.

I didn't think either of them looked that impressive. In my opinion I thought Darling shaded it. Salmond was very toned down, commentators up here (on the yes side) said he was being statesmanlike<whistle> He isn't stupid and knows that a lot of female voters find him fairly repugnant so he tried to calm down on the smirking and sarcasm (the stuff that ironically appeals to the male demographic). He did resort to type a couple of times. It is one of his strengths normally so he was somewhat curbed by this during the debate. Darling also didn't act to type either and kind of got into Salmond's face a bit. The no's claim he was defending the union strongly while the other side just said he was too aggressive. When Eck does it it's assertive.

No real anwers on anything that mattered though both sides seemed to sidestep the things the electorate are concerned with.

The Guardian poll anounced that Darling had won the debate but the other part of the poll was of the undecided voters who 76% Salmond 24% Darling. It's the undecided who matter now and that was a clear victory for YES.

The currency question is political because Better Together know perfectly well that there is no definintive answer to this question until AFTER the Referrendum. THAT'S WHY THEY KEEP ASKING IT. Salmond has no choice but to keep saying what he does because that is his political position. He actually told everybody where they can find Plan B, C, D, E, and F. In the white paper, listen again! But he is not going to outline it because that is what Darling wants so that he can ask another load of irrelevant questions that do not have an answer.

Personally I don't worry about the currencey because Scotland will have one with little problem, it is a red herring. The real question is where is the UK heading with it's huge debt. Privatising the NHS, Lowest pensions in Europe, Low wage rates, Foodbanks, Tuition Fees. There is no doubt in my mind that the UK is in terminal decline, Scotland has a chance to escape all this and build a good future, it need to take this chance.

The undecided don't matter a **** if the NO camp have more than 50% already! Even if the NO camp don't have 50% already, I reckon the 24% of the undecided would see them safely through anyway. Let's ****ing hope so.

    Their poll is interesting.

How will you vote after watching the debate.

    71% say Yes.

    The Record won't like that.

Did Salmond really ask during the debate about having to drive on the right side of the road and the threat of attacks from outer space?

Fed up of ****ing polls. The professional pollsters are a bunch of shysters giving bias results to whoever's paying for them. Online polls are manipulated by people on twitter, facebook etc. encouraging like-minded voters to take part and don't even get me started on canvassing!
