    premier league experience?
does being a bad player in the premier league mean that you will be better off than a great championship player...
Whilst what we have may or may not be good enough in your opinion i am going to go with the guy we employ as manager after all he has played at that level and as far as i can see has done a damn good job of spotting potential and build a team, i do believe hull were better off after he left than before he came, probably a fluke i knew but pretty sure e has more experience than those fans of established premier teams.
Money isn't a problem Top and the board will back him after all he has delivered what he said he would
PS rumor has it the only reason hull don't want to be called the tigers is they are scared people will find out the is a team called the tigers that can actually win something.

Thank you for answering my questions. I can see from your answer that, rather than attempting to be a WUM, your verdict on us is more down to naivety. You have come to the opinion that we're not good enough, as I expected, based on the fact that we haven't signed any "recognised Prem players", and not taken into account the fact that the whole team proved last season that they're ready for the Prem. You wouldn't have know this, since you admit you barely saw us, but we played like a prem side all season. The last side I saw play like us in the Championship was Southampton, but even they didn't dominate like we did. I agree with you point about Huddlestone, but the difference between us now and you a year ago was that you were not ready for the Prem.

Besides, we have some very experienced players throughout the side (Nugent, Wasa, Upson, Kasper, Konch, De Laet, Ulloa, Taylor-Fletcher and Albrighton have all played in top flights, while King, Morgan, Wood and Mahrez have played at international level). As I've said, the only problem I envisage is if we get injuries, as Pearson likes to keep a trim squad. Having said that, we only really need two new additions; cover for De Laet at right-back and cover for Albrighton on the right wing. There's also the possibility we may need to replace Wood (CF) and Hammond (CM) (and some would say Konchesky) who some fear won't cut it, but these aren't essential.

Regarding whether we'll do a "Derby" or a "Southampton" - Derby went up via the play-offs, we're barely prepared and managed by an egotistical idiot. Their big signings were "recognised Prem players" like Robbie Earnshaw and Kenny Miller. Southampton didn't even do as well as us in the Championship, but like us, played some fantastic stuff. Like us, Southampton had a good, up-and-coming English manager. Like us, their star signing was a £7m striker from the Championship. I wonder where the similarities lie?

I'm not just saying this for the sake of it.

But if Ince were Algerian and in the bottom reaches of Ligue 2 then he'd have cost you 250k.

There really is nothing in it for me, other than the 7.75m difference in price tag.

All this sillyness. I tell you what LC & HU fans lets set up a skicky thread called "MAHREZ / INCE prem progress thread" & look at the 2 players week by week. At the end of the season Ince will have to of had a far far better season than Mahrez... when you take the transfer fee difference into account. It´s going to be interesting.

OH! btw, I´m off to see Schalke v Newcastle today, I´ve got my KASABIAN ticket come through (for Köln) & join my FANTASY PREM FOOTBALL LGE. Details on the stickied thread. :emoticon-0150-hands

Respect for your perseverance 1884! .. personally, having seen Tom Ince against us on a few occasions .... in which Liam Moore and Jeff Schlupp rendered him rather ineffective, I'd rather have Mahrez going into this Premiership campaign ... that view is admittedly coloured by having seen much more of Riyad and by a degree of patriotism ... only time will tell ...

Wow, Hull ended up paying £8m for Ince!?

I'm much happier with Albrighton on a free tbh!!!

wow. That probably explains why no one would touch him with a bargepole and why Blackpool don't want to fill up with average players when they will have a bit of money to spend

Mahrez, Knockaert and Albrighton cost around 750K for the lot. Just shows how good Steve Walsh is at scouting

Wumming aside, I think your squad drastically overachieved last season. It's obviously a fantastic championship team- but in my opinion that won't translate to the PL. The 100point tally could be your downfall, because it'll have lulled the ownership into a false sense of security. Major additions are required to secure survival, but it seems there'll only be superficial tinkering.

The hope and ambitions I see on this thread are very similar to those expressed by QPR fans after our 10/11 campaign. The top-tier is a cruel mistress fellas: as you'll soon find out..!

You could be right of course ... but you can only beat what is in front of you .... and that gives me quite a bit of comfort ... because based on team building so far ... we only need to finish above one other club to survive ... because we really were THAT much better than anyone else in the Championship last season <whistle>...

Differerce is your put all your eggs in 1 basket back then with Taarabt. You didn't have a very good team sprit in the slightest either

We have a very good squad now with some very good players. I couldn't really care what other teams think of us as they haven't seen us enough to give accurate opinion. Only evidence they really have is us ripping the championship to peices.
