well I would hope we would go for a versatile striker like Sanchez is/was, who can play upfront alone, or next to studge, or on the wing

Any player joining us should have self belief and ambition. No player should be joining us accepting a position as backup to anyone. Therefore, if that is a problem then the player shouldn't be signed IMO.

In addition to that, I don't believe Sturridge is untouchable. I think Lambert will believe he can get in the side ahead of Danny so anyone else arriving should too.

The large amount of non-descript performances would be the bigger killer for me.

This. couldn't give a **** about his antics even if they were true. It's his lazy couldn't give a **** attitude on the pitch that's the problem. However, if we aim to win things on penalties we'd be sorted with Gerrard, Lambert and Balotelli. He's an expensive penalty taker <laugh>

Why is it that we seem to get shafted by the media with transfer fees? The beeb and guard always quote our fees including add ons as if it's the price (lovren is actually 16mil and lallana 22mil) yet united and arsenal get their fees stated as the upfront one. Especially how media outlets are emphasising that chambers is 'only' 11 million rising to 16. If it was us it would just be stated as 16mil.

Would prefer a bigger name forward but would still be happy if that was the outcome.
Hell, I'd be happy if the team stayed as is with Johnson leaving.
