What's wrong with that? I would take him as cover for Clyne and we get 16mil to boot as well. Jenkinson was called up for England just over a year ago. He isn't a terrible player.
Actually spoke to a mate of mine last night who had been out for meal with his wife a few months back. He got speaking to Rickie also with his wife and another couple to the point he actually invited them to join them. He openly said he had found it very difficult since January when he knew the club had try to sell him to WHU for £11M.
I would have tried to sell him if I thought I'd get £11m. Selling him for £4m has been difficult to swallow though. Especially in the context of the rest of the first team disappearing and huge funds sitting in the bank.
I ,wonder if the fact Les Reed does not like Callum's dad has anything to do with this ? I have heard Callum's dad is an excellent coach , but Reed does not agree .
Thought we didn't do loans, but of course I don't know what we do any more. However, loans may be the answer as getting people in is proving so hard. A loan with a view to a purchase would work...see if the player(s) rises to the challenge.
The worst part for me is it appears that the dream of someday moving up the table into the top places is dead. I'll have to go back to enjoying mid table (or worse). The future is not as bright if this is the way the board operates. How will we ever be able to attract players to build a team to move up. As soon as you are good enough to challenge everybody, even the kids, ask to leave and the board says yes. After years of hoping we actually had a plan to move up the table it is back to the old Saints. That is going be hard to get use to after the last five years I the plan.
Exactly..! And I'm not interested in watching the Club become plucky cannon fodder again. But, as usual, we'll wait and see.
you'd think arsenal would want jenkinson to get a decent amount of football, which all being well we wouldn't offer
There again is the key issue Fran. Nobody knows what we are now. We need to bring an identity back to the club for everyone's sake.
Well that makes it a little bit better. As we've all said, in isolation, £18 million for a back RB is an INSANE amount of money.
£2m less than Kroos to Real Madrid. He's a good player Calum, but he's no future Bale. Guess the top6 clubs have so much money that £18m for a "steady-eddie" player isn't that much of a bother to them.
It was while Cortese was still here. I don't get the point we're thinking about here? Can you explain?
He looked better than that last season, though that may have been due to the team as a whole. He looked pretty exciting to me considering he is only 19.
