Some great options, though I can't see Borini going through as well, think the fact we're now after Rodriguez means the Fabio interest is dropped especially after his injury. We'd then have two Italian internationals, an England international and a Uruguayan international competing for the two wing spots. Those are the sort of options mid-table teams just don't have mate, incredible to think about really. That's before we even consider our promising youngsters who will want to be making their mark, one of whom is already a full Greek international.... Crazy this like. And I ****ing love it.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves with players who are not ours. Remember, it's the hope that kills......

This is all looking very good. I think if Rodriguez signs then we wont pursue Borini any further. Remember Giacc can also play that position and I expect him to play a big part this season maybe from a more central role. Signing Rodwell would be a big step forward as he and Cattermole would be a perfect fit in midfield together. We could then play Giacc or Larson further forward in a 3 and Bridcutt would be a natural replacement in the defensive CM role for injuries / Suspensions. Once this is all done the priority has to be a centre back and a good one. My worry is still the Wickham situation we don't want him to do a pre season and then leave on deadline day because of his contract, it would be a disaster. These are much better signings than we have previously made, under Bruce and MON we signed players who had premier league experience but were from struggling clubs or they were past it. Under PDC we signed loads of unknown imports who turned out to not be up to it. Numbers over quality. Now at least we seem to be signing quality players with a proven pedigree.
At the moment its like this: mannone jones brown JOS van a catts Larsson aj Giacc rodriguez Wickham
But there will be more signings and the above does not look too bad as a start.
But there will be more signings and the above does not look too bad as a start.
Better then this time last season, we've got rid of the dross and the kids look to be improving. Add to that we finally know how to pass the ball
I really think Mavrias, Ba & Watmore are close too. Honeyman has been eye catching pre-season too, and Agnew made the squad tail end of season. We can't say 'too soon' and bemoan there lack of opportunity at the same time, some of these young lads need game time.
Good! I still think we need a couple of strikers so we have the option to play 4-4-2 (can't bank on fletcher and wickham not getting injured, and altidore is ****e) and CB's, maybe a back up right back along with rodwell and rodriguez (if they come off), but this'll be a massive step in the right direction.
