I'm actually cautiously optimistic about Pelle as long as he gets off to a good start. I know it's unfashionable......but......
Did you know... ...that if you sit on Graziano Pelle's hand, and then let him **** you off, it actually feels as though Danny Ings is ****ing you off.
I have never watched the Dutch league in my life, so I have no idea how Pelle will do! Don't see any reason to be negative though, 52 goals in 57 games in any league is ****ing impressive. I bet none of you have watched him for 90 minutes more than a handful of time tops. I trust our new manager to make good decisions until he proves to be bad at signings.
Ah! I wondered what that was when it came through the door. I thought it was something about a new restaurant
I think there will be lots of replica shirts sold with Pelle on the back. Unless he's one of those who have their first name printed. Damn you Maya, I'd love to put "Yoshida" on the back of my shirt.
The thing that's strange is that literally everywhere I have looked, people are writing him off purely because he's coming from the Dutch league. There have been failures from there before, but in general people knew these players were poor before they signed, and people knew they would be poor. With pelle, people agree that it's a gamble but a lot of people that know Dutch football rated him highly. The main concern for me would be if he just a lump that couldn't hold up play, but I think he has a footballing brain from the little footage I have seen. In short, it's a gamble yes, but give the lad a chance. He is more akin to Bony than Altidore.
I would love to get Ings in with Pelle and Jay because I feel it would be a very hungry, honest forward line. No primadonnas. No lazy bastards. Some of the press have tried to belittle him with that Ajax interview, but I love to see that Pelle hates to lose and has passion for his team.
Picked this from the comments below that article: "Hope Pelle does even better than Lambert and Tadic does better than Lallana. The Saints are everyone's favourite team after the one they support. I'd love to see them do even better than last season. If Koeman raids Feyenoord for Jordy Clasie, signs Virgil van Dijk and Fraser Forster from Celtic gets a new LB and signs someone like Danny Ings or Conor Wickam they'll be even better than last season." Quite a nice thing to say and a fair view, in my opinion.
