I don't think they are linked, practically every male I know has a bet on the football on a weekend, I don't know a single person who ever been to cash converters or any pawn shop to either buy or sell. Betting appeals to everyone, makes the weekends football a bit more exciting, specially any televised games you got in your accumulator, far more interesting to watch then as there's actually something in it for you. I'm happy with a bookies. But isn't betting illegal right across china? Is this some mafia syndicate we got on our shirt?
The Chinese can go to Macau to play the casino's, it's their own little Vegas and you can bet in Hong Kong, but only on horse racing and only with the Hong Kong Jockey Club and there's a lot of casino ships that sail into international waters to allow betting. I don't really know how the online bookies operate there.
It's a bit strange how all these Asian bookies are about sponsoring and such. A lot of gambling in Asia, so I read, is organised crime, all done by groups very similar to the mafia. They have local gangs in communities who act as the man at the till etc. and it's all very sort of hush hush, even though everyone knows it's happening and everyone's at it from the local tramp to government officials apparently. It just all seems a bit off somehow. How and why are they sponsoring us? Aren't they giving themselves up?
The person you are not-anti is clearly still continuing his campaign to change the club name. People keep complaining about his campaign, not a week goes by without a new issue being highlighted on here, and yet he still gets 100% support in the way he wants it. Money. He doesnt care if you buy the kit and change the name on it, he wont even know about it. He would care if kit sales dropped by, say 50%. He doesnt read the internet, he thinks most fans are in favour of his campaign. There's only one way that will make him sit up and think otherwise.
Hull City AFC didn't have a name on the shirt or badge until 1975! Have a look at at www.historicalkits.co.uk . Harold Needler wanted to re-name the team Kingston-upon-Hull AFC! He also wanted to change the colours to orange blue and white. Because of rationing they played in light blue shirts. Read the history of the Club it's certainly interesting.
We'll never hurt AA in the pocket, it would be futile trying, the fans account for less than 10% of the clubs income, even if we managed to get everyone to stop buying a shirt, it would only account for a few percent if the clubs income. AA is well aware that his actions are damaging season ticket sales, club shop sales and various other things, he simply doesn't care.
So are the club still announcing its sponsor at 12:00? Is the new kit officially launched at the same time? I've had burnsy on all morning thought he'd gave mentioned it
Im not talking about the name change! Its not the be all to me like it is you. I'm talking about the general ownership of the club which a vast majority are in favor of in my opinion and if they was to be forced out by an organization such as yours, I believe CTWD would receive a pretty big back lash from the majority of fans. Anyway this is a kit thread......
I'm sure AA still has the support of the majority of the fans, outside the name change issue. He should drop it now and leave me free to start my campaign against amber socks...
