I really like the look of it, and love the way the badge sits on the stripes. Almost tempted to get this one despite promising myself not to get another one unless we got a huge signing to put on the back.
Anything has got to be better than Cash Converters.. But if the 12Bet logo has that big bloody white box around it, on a black & amber shirt.... its going to look ****ing awful.
oh well we go from a betting sponsor to a Pawnbrokers and back to a betting sponsor the circle of life for the weak willed
Considering how many on here appear to bet, regularly, I'm slightly baffled over the faux disgust and snobbery at us having a sponsor who's in that game. Clubs like us, as we currently are, will only be attractive to certain companies, and seeing as betting companies make millions off the back of football with the loads of ways to take your money off you, it's hardly surprising is it? Would have been nice to get a local one like say Siemens, but it's early days for them yet, and as it stands, we're just Hull City, we are not an established PL team, we are not in any shape way or form glamorous and as much as we might love and appreciate it, Hull is not a massive attraction either.
They've got Wigan players all over their website in 12Bet sponsored kits. Is that for this season, or is old from last year?
last time i went into a bookies was in 1992 (i lost a fiver on a M Pipe horse , Sammy Slew - yes i remember it coz i vowed not to throw me money away again) , last time i used an online site was to spend a free tenner bet last year the wife set up for the national , and then i spent the next month trying to spend the winnings bettings OK , but its no different to the Cashconverters demographic - hate or embrace them both equally but they are intrinsically linked
Personally, I have no issues with a bookies, it's far better than Cash Converters and we still might have another sponsor for cup competitions. I just wish any sponsor we had would insist on us not wearing amber socks.
Oh I agree with you about who they appeal to and how they're linked. I've only ever gambled once in my entire life, ironically enough on my wedding day. I can say the nag won and I lost though. I think the demographics are different, Cash Converters are appealing only to people really desperate, whereas the bookies are now covering those people but also a lot of young men and people with disposable income. I agree they both feed on people's misery, but that can apply to a lot of other industries too.
so just how many Allam haters are gonna buy one? After all the hatred and bile spewed over the name change fiasco, they will still end up parting with their cash and paying for a replica shirt all so they have the right to protest. Talk about weak.
The badge doesn't look to bad to me. Would have preferred previous one but can certainly live with it. I think a few who previously said they won't buy it actually will probably thinking the badge was going to be a lot worse
CTWD will be helping people who want a shirt with the club name on, so the club doesn't lose any revenue from taking the name off the badge.
I completely agree. I am perpetually stunned the way some people continuously shout from the rooftops their support the CTWD campaign and how it's all solidarity together. They scream on here about the lack of a club name on their season ticket / Premier Club renewal forms - this is an outrage and shatters 110 years of history - and then send in their cash anyway cos they dont want to not watch our shiny new signings. Yeah you really showed that Allam, he's gutted about you having a moan on the internet while still handing over your money.... And now it appears they're STILL planning buying the kit and adding the club name on. It's beyond comprehension and almost like a s**t-com.
The official umbro kit launch for Hull City's new shirt, is what around midday. anyone think it will be online this morning? with just the launch to go ahead later, as just a pre-planned event
CTWD are not anti-Allam and they are certainly not anti-Hull City, we have never done anything that we felt would damage the club. We campaigned to prevent a name change, successfully and now we'll give people the opportunity to add the club name back onto anything the club leaves it off. Our aim is to prevent any further petty stupidity, not to add to it.
