tbh, no I hadn't heard of him apart from hearing a few waxing lyrical over him on here over what he had done in portugal, which to be fair is only slightly better than scotland in terms of league.

(1) if RvW leaves, he'll still be a flop
(2) if RvW stays and achieves nothing he'll still be a flop
(3) if RvW stays and has a stellar season, it will be what do you expect for 8.5 million in the championship.

i'd be amazed if mcqueen is good enough to make more than two or three starts for ipswich next season, and i'm being generous. mccarthy has clearly taken a gamble on someone deemed not good enough by spurs but who kluggy has recommended as good enough to use for the u21s. he's a squad filler. he is not the next big thing. he is quick and... err... i'm guessing he scored in your friendly the other day, otherwise you'd know nothing of him!

Going back to City, like Cromer, I like the idea of EB as a WB, but I think with the diamond it's a halfway house between WBs and FBs.
(3) doesn't make sense - because he's come down from what you'd expect for £8.5m based on his PL season (his value must have plummeted...), so by definition if he does what you expect for £8.5m in the Champ that will be a massive improvement and a no lose situation for us (or no win from your point of view)
he was probably our best player last season, just, but there's little doubt in my mind that we'll benefit from not having him here. he slowed us down, he hogged the ball and he caused us problems. good player but not right for us if we're going to move on.
