Yes, but could he do it against Championship defenders - he certainly didn't do it on the rare occasions he played in the PL????
Well whoopdie bloody doo, He scored 2 goals against a conference side, thats 8.5 million well spent then.
Not being funny Dave, Just seen the goals, hardly any need for you to start bed wetting about him, The first winky goal you could have scored, and the second was a typical last minute friendly goal with defenders too ****ed to run back. The free kick was quite good, even though the keepers positioning leaves a lot to be desired.
there's an element of grantholtism going on here. guru and warky (along with most ipswich fans) slammed him as a league one striker, a fat donkey. what did he do? oh, that's right - hattrick. there's a certain parallel don't you think??? its quite easy to see the fear. we've all seen that he had a desperate season last time out but we also saw that it really was nothing to do with ability and all to do with a totally shattered confidence. a couple of goals here, a couple of goals there and that confidence will begin to reappear. helped by the fact the man who never passed to him, snodgrass, has left the club and all of a sudden we have an £8.5m striker on our hands in the championship. he is deadly given the right ammunition. i know it. we know it. you know it. and that is why you are worried. you're desperate for him to leave because a) you can laugh at him being a flop but more importantly b) he can't hurt you and make you look like the buffoons you are if he's not at norwich. you really don't do a good job of hiding your fears.
As far as I can tell, it's a no lose situation for us because he's been such a flop: (1) if RvW leaves, he'll still be a flop (2) if RvW stays and achieves nothing he'll still be a flop (3) if RvW stays and has a stellar season, he'll be a one-flop-season-wonder I like those odds
There's an interview with Adams after last night's match. The best bit is where he waxes lyrical about how RvW is going to singlehandedly dismantle and destroy our terrified foes just south of the border Just joking, (I haven't even listened to it yet) but based on the (excellent) put down post by Superman just now I thought I'd get my wooden spoon out and stir it all up please log in to view this image https://audioboo.fm/boos/2329531-br...ch-city-neil-adams-talks-to-bbc-radio-norfolk
Sometimes strikers just need goals, however they may come about and RvW is in that situation. He'll score better goals than those, but at least they take some pressurre off.
Some believe by what Adams said, RvW will be out the door. I wonder if it's down to pure financial reasons than anything else.
Really! tbth, If he stays and plays against us he probably will score, Its sod law, but does that make him a 8.5million striker? to score against a bunch of freebies? Whatever happens happens, but the odds probably will be that he will stub his little pinky and cry off sick again.
Like we're pissing ourselves over your summer transfer activity? At least you'd heard of RVW before he came to Norwich. I've got no idea who any of your signings are.
Has there been any talk if how Elliot Bennett was at RB last night? If we're going for the diamond we need good wing backs to provide width and Olsson and Bennett would be brilliant I feel.
To be fair to the guy if you took last season away and looked at his CV then yes you probably would say he's a £8.5m striker. I don't want to get into what went wrong and who's fault as that's been done to death already BUT I find it almost impossible to believe that a player of that calibre and quality suddenly goes from where he was to Sunday morning football down the park level. I hope he does stay and prove the point because I believe he's a very good player and it'd be great for the club and great for him. Including last season on his CV is he worth £8.5m? Well if you look at his history before that you've got to wonder. For me given the price of strikers these days he's still got to be worth £5m if someone was interested to put a bid in. If he stays and has a half decent season then that £8.5m will soon look fair again.
We'd be knackered if one or both picked up an injury. Martin and Garrido wouldn't suit that role at all, imo.
