ot.maybe upsetting...suicides.

It's pretty humbling to read just what some of you guy's have gone through, and are still going through.

Put's some things into perspective for me.

I hope the honesty you've shown helps other's on here, who've may have been struggling on their own, to realise there's help and support out there if they need it. And no shame comes from asking. Just respect.

 

This thread has made me reconsider the way I respond to people on here.

I treat everyone the way I behave with my sons and mates so the humour and banter is pretty savage at times.

I'll take a bit more care on here in future with people who might not be in the best of fettle.

 

Especially in some warm-climate country where there's better pastimes than 3d TV such as thong-spying.

I'd love to live somewhere and spend all day doing that mate, in Manchester it's only an option if you venture on to some dodgy housing estates on a hot day, or if you go to Liverpool for a night out. Not worth it, you can't un-see things.

it's why i love this forum, i've noticed all of you guys are a set of honest bastards, not just this thread, but so many... like i said, my dad had a big connection the area, even though hes glaswegian, he moved here and lived here for years, so i grew up visiting my dad in this area, the north east, i had a residency in hexham and my first ever english game was a sunderland game v leeds just after the stadium of light opened, it's cliched as ****, but that area... really does ****ing love football, it's wierd, like i've not been anywhere in england with such a passion for football with the north east lot, you just have wierd accents

 

There's a lot of tragic stuff on here. For those who suffer mental illness I feel a lot of hurt. Having worked in the nhs now for. 6 years and also did a large portion of my younger life working in care homes for mentally ill patients, I've seen the effect that suicide has on people connected I've seen patients try to kill themselves in bizarre ways. I hope you all get the love and care and understanding you so desperately need to help you through.

I think discussing it is exactly what's needed, instead of a taboo subject in which the suffers keep it to themselves. Mental health needs so much more awareness. People how suffer from mental illness or their concerned family or friends should be free to discuss it without any hang ups and be able to be as honest as they feel they need to be. A person would feel uncomfortable talking about a poorly leg so why not a poorly brain?

 

In all honesty, i was a bit wary of starting this thread, i had no idea as to how it would pan out.

Thought it may have been a tad sensitive for many.

However, i the end, i'm glad i did, it's been very enlightening.

nah this is exactly my point, why i ****ing love this forum, there's certain posters on here who post about their own personal life, (i wont name names, you all know who are they) but i find it ****ing amazing, and the sounds like so many of you lot have met each other.. it's why i felt comfortable posting my story... honestly.. you lot are ****ing amazing, its the one thing the hull forum lacks

i've only ever shared my experiences with very close mates, i know this forum is anonymous, but i dunno nvm, it's strangely good to get it out to people i've not met, but i don't want sympathy etc, i wouldn't mind meeting some of you this coming season, it's just.. ****ing amazing to get stuff your chest, dunno man

My older brother committed suicide in 1984 while I was in training with the RAF. I traveled back home on cup final day on the train. Longest journey of my life. The experience absolutely devastates the family left behind. But as others have stated, life goes on for those left behind. We try not to obsess on the why, but rather remember the good stuff. He was a nut case Mackem fan, who would go to all the games. I remember the game mid week when we beat the hammers at roker to get promoted, what an awesome night with him.

 

There's some really good honest posts in here.

One of my sisters committed suicide a number of years ago. What tipped her over the edge was work stresses and meeting ridiculous government performance targets.

I know it's not weekness or an inability to deal with a situation that would bring a person to this point as I've been in some very dark places myself over the years... some for no apparent reason. It can get to a point where you're convinced that everyone you love would be far better off with you gone, and it's not something you make yourself think and certainly not what your loved ones think... it just happens. One day you're fine, the next you're looking over the edge. Combine one of these periods with a period of high stress, and you've got a tragic mixture.

in reality, i absolutely love everyone, my cat keeps me in check, i just can't resist her little head out that box, it makes me cry and omg shes so ****ing adorable! the little cutie
