While there's 100 or so of us on here (still) waiting for news of Tadic and needing something new to debate...

I was just thinking the Schneiderlin to Arsenal rumours have all gone very quiet this week. Morgan said Koeman had called and it seemed that he might possibly stay... what do you think about giving him the captaincy to cement it?

If not Morgan, who would you give it to?
 
How...how have you missed the opportunity for "Captain Morgan" as the title?

My preference would be Fonte, but Morgan would be next, and if it can be the difference between leaving and being happy here, give it to him.
 
I don't know if giving a wantaway player captaincy is a good idea, unless it's a bargaining chip to convince him to stay, in which case it's a pretty desperate situation. Fonte all the way.
 
I think we need the violins out and pictures of crying fans sent to him on a regular basis to try and swing this. We don't know whether he will stay, but at least he is doing the decent thing and having a conversation with the club.
 
Would be a good move to make Snidders our captain as he is our best defensive/holding midfielder and almost guaranteed a start.
Also an excuse to give him an improved "Captains" contract to ensure he stays

Lovren, please note. As we've said before, Morgan is not only a superb footballer, but a man of integrity. If he stays I would be more zan 'appy to 'ave him as ze captain. (Been on the red wine early. Apologies to 'Allo 'Allo). If he goes I'll weep like a child but wish him well!
 
I think Morgan will leave, whether this summer or next, so I think it should be given to someone with at least a couple of seasons with us - Fonte - or for the future - JWP. Although JWP probably has to improve his own game let alone his leadership so I'd go Fonte.
 
If he wasn't likely to be leaving then definitely would like him but I think Fonte would make a superb captain
 
For me, despite Morgan being a superb player and me wanting him to stay, he doesn't strike me as captain material.
