I'd agree with that Stevo, but there's usually someone who'll pay him more given that they've only got to match the release clause figure.

He could double his dosh elsewhere - that's unless Fernandes has got the big cheque book out again.
 
36pl appearances suggests this offer was a little misguided. Why would you move from established first team Pl to championship?

Unless saints are trying to set a new bench mark by selling their entire first 11 and manager in 1 transfer window!!!
They want to hope Koeman is right man because his decisions this summer will have a massive effect on their future. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Is there an element of bet hedging going on here? We stay in the championship we get 10M euros (not got a euro symbol on my keyboard and cant remember the alt/fn/ctrl combo for it), we go straight back up be get him back?

Could be a shrewd move by VT.
 
This centreback issue looks like it's becoming a bit of a merry-go-round thing.

Lovren to Liverpool could mean Caulker to Soton with Fonte coming the other way in a combo deal - but would Fonte want to drop a division?
 
Can't blame him for wanting as higher wage as possible but his 'ambition' to stay where he feels he belongs (despite all evidence suggesting he isn't a PL player) should surely be attempting to make this transfer work.

I hope something gets sorted and he leaves, if he stays I'll support him the same as I do everyone else who wears the shirt.
