He was reputedly offered 100k p/w for 3 years. If he turns that down then balls to him, he's a very solid player and I really like him but I don't think he should have been getting more than Per and Kos. He already wheeled out the "new challenge" excuse so as Winifred says I think his mind was already set.
Soo he's earning an extra 30k a week to what he was offered. That's an extra £1,560,000 a year. But no we go and spend 10-12 Million on a replacement. (who IMO is inferior - albeit on a similar level) We always talk about players showing loyalty but if you work at a company for years and consistently perform well.. most people expect some kind of recognition from your employers. Arsenal have done this multiple times. I believe we could have kept RVP too had we shown him some recognition. He deserved 200k a week (as one of the best players on the planet) and it would still serve us better than buying an expensive/inferior replacement.
the early bird catches the worm. The world cup does not stop clubs going for and making deals for players. Arsen needs to pull his finger out now or he will be left with the dregs again and no player of worth to chose from...
Scratch that - if he was offered £100k and a three-year deal by the club it would be the equivalent of a 66% pay rise and would qualify him for a testimonial at the end of the deal.
Gazetta in Italy are claiming that Juve are willing to sell Vidal. If that is the case then I think we should go all out to get him. He is the complete midfield player.
Rumours in Spain are suggesting that a decision on Sanchez's future could be decided on the next few hours. Some rumours are saying that Sanchez will be part of the Suarez deal.
Let's hope that he refuses to go to Liverpool and then Barca sell him to us to recoup some of the money they spend on Suarez
Some places reporting that Debuchy will be announced tomorrow for £7.8m.. Think that's pretty unlikely a day after he played in the world cup..
If Liverpool really want Sanchez I don't think it would be that hard to convince him to go there over Arsenal. Not unless he really wants to stay at Barca
We're not going to announce anyone until next Thursday, makes no sense to announce them, have them pose with the old Nike kit (god i miss Nike) when the new Puma kit comes out next week and we're already now a Puma team.
It's not so much about what he is worth, its about what he is worth to us. He is our number 1 right full back as well as the french number 1 right full back and he is on a very long contract. I think the main issue for us is that we shouldn't be selling a player we don't want to sell for his market value and that we should be insisting on an inflated price tag to reflect the fact that we neither want nor need to sell him. From our point of view it would be very hard to picture us attracting a player of his quality to our club for £12M. As fans of the purchasing club I can see where you are coming from, but seeing as it is all over twitter that you're getting him for only £8M I can't be anything other than gutted that you're getting our best defender for less than other clubs are quoting for mediocre replacements. I cannot see any sense in this move from our point of view. Fair play to you lot though. You've got a hell of a player at a steal.
