We can register 21 players (unless we resign Thomas Cairney and Liam Cooper) but that has to include 3 goalkeepers as well I think.
A million times of getting something wrong doesn't make it right. A locally trained player is either a "club trained player" or an "Association trained player". 18.11 An "association-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which the player turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which the player turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been registered with a club or with other clubs affiliated to the same association as that of his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or of 36 months.
H What's that got to do with owt or nowt? Club trained/association trained players is to do with the A list (aka 25 man squad) It has bugger all to do with the B list (u-21's). I suggest you do a little research for yourself before telling people they're wrong, or else you run the risk of coming across as very ticklesque.
And not before time. Welcome on board snotarse, I'm still going to ****ing boo you in your first game. Unless you shave that stupid moustache off.
It has everything to do with the A list and our restriction of only being able to have 21 players on it. If we have an under 21 who meets the rule 18.11 he can be used in the "A" list giving us a 22 man squad. What is wrong about that?
On the Snodgrass thread but for anyone that hasn't seen it the signing is now official https://twitter.com/hullcityteam/status/483648561843011585
You're mixing the two lists together. The A list has no u-21 requirements. The A list is the 25 man squad, where you need 4 club trained players and 4 association trained players to name a complete squad. For any requirements you can't meet you have to leave blank spaces in the squad, leaving us with the ability to name a 21 man squad as you say because we have no club trained players. U-21 players can be registered for the competition as extras on the B list, but in order to qualify for the B list they must have spent two full consecutive seasons at the club, of which we have none. So no matter what we do we're stuck with a 21 man squad for the Europa league. I think the only two players in the world, who have anything about them, that we could sign to extend that number would be Tom Cairney and Liam Cooper. Probably some of our development squad will qualify for the b list but due to the fact none have them have ever made a first team appearance and the assumption that they're all ****e, I think we can discard them as any real additions to the squad.
I would beg to differ, but I'm not going to argue the point as its not worth it. Looking at what the press are saying he is going into the development squad anyway so its a moot point. My understanding was that any player who had played in England for 36 months and was under 21 could be counted towards the "A" list. So far in this transfer window I am staggered by the money on the table for deals and debating who is right or wrong is too petty for today. Maybe when the Europa League squad is announced we can re-visit it all.
