Easily done, he was released a few weeks ago. As was Conor Henderson and James Armstrong. The latter was especially promising; I think his best moment was in pre season when he blacked up and affected a strong South African accent.
Snodgrass almost certainly at some point today, the national papers seem to think an agreement has been reached with Ince Jr, but I'm not sure how long the tribunal process takes. He can still sign the deal and do all the stuff regarding press releases and photos, but he can't be 100% ours till we've paid what we owe, which will hopefully be a reasonable amount.
The mail online suggesting Blackpool are going to try for 8 Million in compensation: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Bruce-continues-strengthen-Tigers-squad.html
Good luck with that one, Blackpool. I believe the £1.5m loan fee that Palace paid will be deducted from any valuation - so if a tribunal decides on, say, £5m, then his new club would only have to fork out £3.5m.
More likely to be around 200k I think. I've never heard of a compensation fee breaching a million pounds, never mind multi million pounds. The compensation fee isn't about the market value of a player, it's about the costs of the club to train that player over the period of time they spent at the club. I think. If Blackpool wanted market value they should have flogged him whilst they had chance when he was under contract and Cardiff offered £9m. They won't get anything remotely near that number now.
I'm sure I read somewhere an English rag said that the compo will be around 300k. Just can't find the article now
Bristol Rovers youngster Alefe Santos is set to hook up with our development squad. It'll be another compensation deal, but a young Brazilian in the squad can't hurt.
He's English, Brazilian born. Also Sky are saying we had bid 5 mill euros for Moreno, but it looks like the suspected leg break yesterday has now been confirmed.
Also we've made a £5m bid for Mexico defender Hector Moreno but it's in doubt as he broke his leg yesterday against Holland
We bid €5m for Mexico and Espanyol defender Hector Moreno but it's unlikely to go anywhere now after fracturing his tibia in the game against Holland yesterday. He'll be out a few months with that.
Bitterly disappointing, he would have been a great signing. Hopefully we can earmark some money for January for him.
Are we actually signing players into the development squad who we think will have a chance at making the first team or just getting them in to improve the current standard of the squad with the hope that they'll all improve more playing alongside better players?
We're obviously looking to jump start our academy set-up by signing a few decent prospects, it's a good move. About time we had another Brazilian in the squad, I miss Geo.
That's certainly how it looks, I was just wondering out loud to myself really whether the management actually think any of them will ever be good enough to make the first team. I'd be disappointed if they were signing young players for the sake of an instant improvement, it'd be wasteful.
Blackpool do like the dosh! They went into the premier league banked £30+ mil and went down! That's the way to run a business.
