Why do we punish?

a) Revenge for the victim?
b) To encourage people to obey the law?
c) To help rehabilitate the perpetrator?

Or a combination of the above? No wrong answer, people have different opinions.

Unless you believe punishment is for (a) alone- it probably doesn't matter what the victim things is a just punishment.

As I've said before- I don't think the punishment is harsh- I think worse crimes have too lenient punishments. My beef is that Liverpool appears to be taking more punishment from this than Uruguay, or maybe, even Suarez himself.

I realise what you're saying, but its the worst analogy ive ever seen

Though it is probably in line with the hyperbole and fatuous analogies that are thrown around by the Prime Minister onwards whenever Suarez gets himself in the newspaper.

Anyone see Ian Wrights comment?

Not appears mate, absolutely we are paying a bigger price than Uruguay and Suarez, especially financially.

<yikes>

Should be ****ing neutered for saying that. As if he's ever served anyone but himself ffs. WTF has playing football got to do with being suckered into fighting illegal wars.

Should have known you'd like that <laugh>

Didnt his home get robbed? His wife and children held at knife point? He flew back home and that

He's clearly still in shock

So done with Suarez nonsense now, genuinely don't care if we keep him or sell him anymore. We all know what he can offer but he's not the be all and end all.

I love the way our visitors first praise the club they have been slating for years in order to give more gravity to what Suarez has done<doh>

Youre club is ****e but in this its a little unfair you have to suffer due to some disturbed weirdo.

However you backed him and this is how hes repaid you. Many people are now reminding you all how you were warned.

Just shows how much publicity this got, I didn't even know about it...
