We have loads of left-footers that can play on the left-wing. Boyd, Brady, Quinn and Aluko are all capable of playing there, we actually need another right-footed winger.

Neither Quinn or Boyd are capable of playing regularly as a winger at this level , I'm not even totally convinced aluko could do a job there which leaves Brady when fit , but I suspect he may be playing lb or wb next season

You say we overpay but to me that's ridiculous in today's market there worth every penny of what we paid for them , what would you value our current better players at 2 million ?

Long was in the last year of his contract when we paid around £7M for him, that's too much money in my opinion. As for Jake, I would have paid no more than £6M for him.

Birmingham got rid of Davies because they needed money and we was the only club willing to meet their evaluation of the player and give him a chance. - Done deal

Spurs had spent millions on a new midfield and Huddlestone wanted out because he wanted to play regular football - we accepted the 5.25m fee. - Done deal

Norwich have been relegated and wanted to hold on to their best player, Snodgrass doesn't want the championship and wants to play in the premier league - Norwich are trying to get the most for their best player - We accept the offer because he is a quality player and other teams around us (Sunderland, Southampton, West Brom etc) want him.

I would rather spend the 8million and have another quality addition to our squad, our squad last season was crying out for a left sided attacking midfielder and now it looks like we have ticked the box.

A LB, striker and another CD (hopefully dawson) and I think our business is done.

Any news from the inside man?

£8m for a player who's just been relegated & is in the last year of his contract is OTT by around £4m.

He's had two seasons in the PL & been relegated. This doesn't make him "proven". He has an exceptionally poor record of assists for a suggested creative winger.

He's no better than what we currently have.

This will be the second signing that hasn't improved the team despite spunking off £16m

Although I like both Quinn and Boyd, I think SB is trying to bring in even better players and the likes of these two will be even more peripheral next season than they were last.

I think he's a good player, and we're being snobby saying he isn't good enough. He plays in a position where we're particularly poor.

However I really don't like him and I don't like us paying so much for him. We're forever being told how little money there is and Allam is always threatening us with "If you want these expensive signings..." Well what if we think we've been here before and don't mind if we're a bit more conservative in the transfer market, and sign the odd player who costs less than £7m?

He had 6 assists the season before. Hardly earth-shattering, but respectable.

Does that mean he's on a slide? He allso only averages 2 crosses/game which is pretty pants for a winger.

Not unhappy he's coming, just think we've been spanked again & he's no better than Brady.

I really don't know who you expect us to sign snodgrass and Livermore are great signings

He's a good player but Norwich will be laughing all the way to the bank if they get £8M for him.

Do you know better than Steve Bruce then?, let the experts do their job.

No manager is an expert at transfer dealings. The best make some huge mistakes.

I think he'll be a decent signing, however I think £4-6m would have been more reasonable. I read somewhere that Norwich wanted £10m at the start of the summer, now that is ridiculous.
