Yeah - wingers with fake pace annoy the hell out of me. (*cough* RYAN WILLIAMS...)

    *Cough* Beresford

Maybe an additional attribute should be an ability to cross the ball.

Weren't we linked with Ashley Young? He's a diving twat, but he's a quick diving twat that can cross a ball.

He's on about 120 grand a week! I've not heard it tbh and i'd say that there next to no chance.

Apparently we are putting a £2m take it or leave it bid in for Maguire.

I think that's fair enough, I know they want the maximum they can get, but he have to move on if its not to be and look at other options. our season starts early and I am sure Steve Bruce will be keen to get 80% of dealings tied up early.

Here he is.... Kasper Kusk, plays for Aalborg, but subject of a bid by Twente. Looks like can play either wing, great feet, fast and gd turn of pace and can finish. We'd get him for 1m/1.5m...

Not currently (or at least reported). Oddly, he's in our new kit promotional video.

I see a lot of you saying £6m is the upper limit of what you'd hope to spend. Must admit, I was expecting us to accept something around this, as Snodders is in the last year of his contract. If he had two years or more, though, trust me he is worth a lot more. He was awesome in his first season. He had a slow start to this season because of a number of injuries, but he was by far and away our best player in the second half (admittedly there weren't many candidates...) He gives his absolute all every match and his delivery is absolutely quality. He created the second highest number of chances in the Premier League in 12-13 (to Leighton Baines) and I believe, despite missing parts of 13-14 season, he was up there again this past year. Admittedly he is not quick, but yet he consistently beats his man one-on-one. He also chips in plenty of goals, not just from free kicks. And of course he's still only 26.

The only real issue with him is that he is limited to playing one way effectively - inverted winger on the right hand side. He is brilliant at that role and I would have no hesitation in describing him as a slow Arjen Robben. But anything else (even in the number 10 role) and he becomes a bit anonymous. The problem with his lack of pace is that then you have to have the whole team playing his system - pacy counter-attacks are out... When all's going well, that's fine, but when your backs are against the wall (as ours were for much of the season) it did stifle us a little bit when our passing and movement became slow and crap. But he's just so effective it's impossible to leave him out. I actually think he might be most dangerous in Europe, on his style of play.

So, personally, I'm not surprised he's gathered significant interest from the Prem because he is definitely that class (probably helped by his contract...) And I would absolutely love to keep him in the Championship because he will be incredibly effective and probably the best player at that level, but I think he deserves to continue at Premier League level. But it will be interesting, if he does leave, to see how his new manager incorporates him into the team and whether it affects style quite as much as it seemed to ours.

I can understand the interest in pace, so don't get me wrong I realise why some of you might be a bit hesitant, but a pacy, classy, consistent winger who delivers a good cross, beats his man and can pass crisply hardly comes cheap... In fact will probably be targeted by the richest. So you have to forgo at least one of the attributes and I can safely say with Snodders it's really only his pace (maybe his passing needs improving).

Brady's crossing can be a bit wild, but I agree, on his day Brady is very good.

I would also like to offset this glowing Snodgrass review with four cold facts.

    1. He's Scottish
    2. He was a Leeds favourite.
    3. He's a ****.
    4. He's got a silly moustache.
    5. He's a ****.

    Ok that was five.

Can't argue with any of that, but if he's in your team, at least he's your ****. Plus he can actually grow a decent beard which is more than can be said for a lot of these tarts.

Currently, from what I've seen, Brady's still (understandably) not quite got the consistency. And I've noticed his crossing is a bit awry too.

But agree he has bags of potential and could well turn into the complete package, in which case he will "hardly come cheap... In fact will probably be targeted by the richest".

Yes, points 3 and 5 could instantly be moved from the negatives board over to the positives should he sign for us.

Point 1 may well be workable, as if the Scottish gain independence, he could apply to become a British citizen.

Point 2 is a bit of a problem, but given the fact that they are lower league minnows well beneath us, it could be used as ammunition against the vermin.

Point 4 is the biggest problem. I'm not sure what can be done about it.

Make him dye it orange and black stripes as a condition of transfer?

I think Snodgrass would be a great signing for us. We are so predictable at times with Elmo putting in a lofted cross from out wide which is easily cleared away, it would be great to have a more direct option on the right.

In terms of Brady I think a lot of people have forgotten how good he was at the start of last season before he got injured. He was comfortably our best player and was playing like one of the best wingers in the league. He is the only real prospect we have of a player that might make it big and sell for a serious fee if he continues to develop.
