He was trolling. Nobody wants Kalou - we just keep getting linked to him. Year on year. As for the same level as Giroud that's absolute nonsense. Giroud is a quality target man he's just not 'TOP class'. I would still take him over any of Chelseas current CF's.(and statistically he's superior as well as work rate) Arsenal need a 'World Class' centre forward to push on.
The tongue is firmly in cheek with this one mate. We've been linked to him every transfer window for around the last decade. We don't need him, he's not the standard we need, but it doesn't seem to stop the rumours every window.
I would say they are both mediocre. Different type of players, Kalou was never really a target man, he could play out wide too, similar to Walcott (but not as good). Kalou was a decent player, so is Giroud, honestly dont think they are worlds apart in terms of quality. As for being better than Chelsea's CF, thats not really hard. My gran could probably have performed better than Torres has for Chelsea, Eto'o was ok I guess for a freebie, but not earth shattering. Ba has never really been given a decent crack at it. This is why we are getting Costa in, who is much better than Giroud, Kalou and Torres combined. Balotelli is the one for you guys imo. I have always rated him (even if he is a nutcase off the pitch) and for the price being banded about (between £20-£30m) you would be mad not to make a bid. he is still only 23 too, so will likely improve.
Giroud is far better than he's given credit for. He's just not technically up there with the elite. 22 Goals and 8 assists is not a bad return. But yeah. I would love Balotelli at Arsenal. He's a madman but Wenger has a history of doing well with players like that.
Ha ha I've just been told off at work because they've discovered I've not been playing out Kalou/Rooney promos, not to mention a sharp decline in the Fabregas version
Yeah I think Wenger would be perfect for him. I must admit, I was impressed with Balotelli against England; not so much his performance, but his discipline, attitude, and the way he came off the field. I was expecting him to lose his cool as he was isolated for large spells of the game, but he pleasantly surprised me. I must also say that the glimpses I saw of Higuain, he looked like he would fit in perfectly at Arsenal, linked up play superbly and he is a great finisher! Either of those two and Arsenal will improve massively!!
I think Balotelli is worth the gamble as at 23 years old he can still improve vastly and I think he could go on to become one of the best strikers in the world. As for Kalou, clearly not in the same league as Giroud.
On looking at the stats I would have to say i agree now to be honest. But yeah his goal scoring record is better, but then you would expect it to be as he is a target man. Girouds stats arent actually all that bad to be fair, better than I expected by the amount you guys moan about him
Bit gutted about this to be honest. I thought we might make another bid for him this summer, but he's said that he wants to stay at Schalke. Can't do anything about that.
Yup but I think he's been hyped almost too much. Don't get me wrong he's going to be 'World Class' but for a player his age he will be overpriced.
If you can get him for under £30m, that would not be overpriced imo. We are paying £32m for Costa. Prices are that high for a decent striker these days. Heck Andy Carroll cost Liverpool £35m, I know they got raped royally on that sale but still. So did we with Torres. Bottom line, if you can get a great striker, who is, or is very likely to be very soon, World class, for under £30m......then go for it.
