80 minutes into this apology of a world cup match between Iran and Nigeria.... never mind the lack of entertainment I've refereed matches in the Hayes and District Sunday League with more skill and tactical nous on view than these Herbert's.

I had a wonderful time in Argentina. The people were amazingly hospitable (when they realised I wasn't American). I was slightly unnerved, however, by the number of youth wearing Welsh rugby jerseys, and the British Council funded Welsh language teacher called, and I have not made this up, Hamish McDonald.
 
We must be due another controversial game with Argentina - there seems to be a specific match ingrained in the psyche of every generation of England fans! I must admit i don't see them as the worst in terms of cynicism and cheating though - Uruguay win that award every time.

I have never had a problem individually with any Argentinian I met and consider myself and Mrs L personally responsible for the invasion of the Falklands - but that is another story.
