So am I, but Mick won't answer me what his motivation is for seeing Scottish Indy, one only suspects that he sees it as a vehicle to antagonise the "Huns" in NI and the eventual end of British occupation in Direland, hence my insistence on a remaining stake in Northern Ireland and protection from Rome for the Ulster-Scots like Medro.

No, it's because for 50 years, countless bombings, murders and intimidation has led to a brain-drain and any one with a semblance of common sense has bailed out of NI.

You said that the "biggest reason" for NI wages being less than SI was because of economic policy. I disagree. It's a reason, but not "the biggest". I think the biggest reason is blowing the **** out of each other for 50 years+ as previously explained.

Wales has been economically reliant on England since the 12th Century ever since they were taken over. They have some of the worst educational standards in Europe and the worst in the UK. They devolved education to the Welsh assembly and it got even worse! Would Wales benefit from independence? I don't know but they're heavily indebted to England, I'd imagine and don't seem to be doing very well, though these things can change very quickly, look at Poland and their recent PISA tests.

Take London out of the picture and Scotland would probably be on par with the rest of England, if not more wealthier. Unfortunately, being richer now isn't guaranteed forever and it takes real foresight and vision from wonderful politicians to ensure that we always remain a wealthy nation. “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” (Barrie Lochrie 2002) The populous debate about social justice is aimed at folk with gripes wanting more "freebies" from the State. No one has the balls to debate the BIG issues surrounding pension deficits, the ballooning black hole in public finances. The biggest threat to future growth is future debt but we don't want to talk about it.

My opinions on Indy isn't based on greed or lack of ambition, the UK has been good for its subjects and I don't know if it's right to give it up on a leap of faith. We are stronger as a UK, I don't think that is debatable, we break up and there will be winners, but there will be losers too.

Thee are well paid jobs in NI, just not in IT, which I'm sure there is too, just not any you fancy and probably not that many of them either.

I have no idea what you're getting at though.

 

I may be wrong but if Scotland goes Indy then they will try to copy/compete with ROI in corporation tax to lure the big companies in,I think that's what he getting at.

 

The world is your oyster, go wherever you want. You want the UK to break up because it will suit your proxy internet war and you believe, enhance the chances of an end to British occupation in the AoE.
