Wouldn't improve the Hull team in terms of ability? Really?

He's winding you up.Do Prado is the only one who's first team material. What a beast.
Even without Shaw, Lambert and Lallana Saints have a better squad and starting XI than Hull. They also have a healthy transfer budget that will increase even further if they sell the likes of Shaw and Lallana.
Katharina Liebherr is the owner, she lets others run the club for her. Since returning to the Premier League the club under her ownership have spent £73m on players and over £30m upgrading the training ground. She has owned the club for 4 years since her fathers death and despite what you may have read in the press she is very interested in the club and is continuing to invest.
The man in charge of football at Saints is director of football Les Reed. Since he joined the club Saints have climbed from the bottom of League 1 to 8th in England. He clearly knows what he is doing.
I do not know any Southampton supporters who are excited at the moment, they are all concerned that next season will be a struggle.
I don't know about your Southampton supporters, but if I was one I'd be bloody excited.
Yes, they may be losing some real quality but this could be the catalyst for really stepping it up a gear and trying to push up the league towards the top bracket. With all the funds that are likely to be at their disposal, get the right man in and have him play his cards right, there's real opportunity there.
Because he went to a bigger club.
That's a matter of opinion.
We have just heard how fantastic Southampton are yet they seem to go through managers like a dose of salts.
Time will tell, but it would be interesting to see how many of those players you listed are still at your club come the start of the season.
The Liebehrr family are the ones pumping money into your club. Dangerous when Katharina knows nothing about football.
She may also view it as a waste of her family funds.
As my sister lives and works in Southampton - she knows many saints fans that don't share your optimism.
You'd struggle to find many people in the world that don't think Spurs are bigger than Saints.
Your point being...?
My point being, in answer to the poster who was listing all of Southamptons virtues, if it was such a fantastic club with such a bright future and owners who are wiling to back the manager etc etc....then why do mangers come and go like the number 10 bus?
As for Spurs. Big club in the past, but in the past. Today they are struggling to play catch up with Chelsea and Arsenal, they are living off their past reputation and that was made 40 odd years ago, and any one taking on the managers job there is about three games from the sack..
Mancini has Just quit Galatasaray. I've just had a fiver on at 7/2 for him to be next Saints manager
MLG, I am surrounded by Southampton supporters, I have lived and worked in the area for 40 years. I spent last Sunday afternoon talking about Saints whilst my grandson paraded around in last seasons training top. My Son in Law has just renewed his and the grandsons season cards at a cost on just a fraction under £1000. Not one person has said that they are excited about next season.
As for Kathleen, she did not like Cortese, she did not trust his wife and why his son is/was at the Academy well no one knows. In order for her to protect her Fathers legacy, she has supported the club, but just like Hull City it has to stand on its own two feet. Money from sales out will be used within the club, that is the case with most clubs under FFR.
The club has not been run well during the past four years. The training ground development was stalled for months whilst the club amended the plans and then changed them back several times. Former players were banned form the stadium for speaking out. In order to get answers from her Chairman, Kathleen Leibherr, tracked him down whilst he was on a skiing holiday (during the season) and in the medias words "stopped him in his tracks", so that she could as him about events at the club.
Dont paint a false picture.
