Just based on wikipedia, he appears to have been just about everywhere (Holland, Egypt, Romania, Qatar, Scotland, Southampton...) and has usually been involved with the development of young players. Makes sense if the club are serious about having an academy that can supply the club to bring in someone with experience of that I guess. Never stayed anywhere too long though, and held a variety of roles, so perhaps a bit of a jack of all trades?
The article mentions that Wotte's competition is Celtic Chief scout, John Park. I wonder if they've got there wires crossed and Park is actually a candidate for our director of recruitment position which have just become open. This would be a very good appointment as I believe he is extremely well thought of and has brought some excellent young players to Celtic
Daily Mail reporting that Hooper is 'demanding a transfer' ! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ansfer-Norwich-City-following-relegation.html
Any chance he already knows McNally too, which might help somewhat? I can't shake the feeling that McNally is trying desperately to build something good with us, but Delia and co keep trying to tear it all back down. I trust the DM about as far as I could throw the hack behind the article, so not convinced there's anything in the Hooper rumours. QPR wanted him last season so that's not a surprising link.
Ambitious if true but he'd cost a fortune. Presumably they'll want to make a profit on the £8 Million they paid for him. Do we have that kind of money?
I think it'd be difficult to prise Jordan Rhodes away from Blackburn unless he's frustrated by their failure to make the play-offs the last two years. He's just the sort of proven goal-scorer City need though.
If Rhodes was likely to leave Blackburn I would have thought he would attract interest from a number of PL clubs.
so jordan rhodes' name crops up just as ewan chester is about to leave. i know for sure that he and his network didn't rate rhodes at all. interesting shift if true but i'd be very surprised if he came here. relegation makes him a more sensible signing for our level but equally makes him less likely to join.
I'd say that Hooper and Rhodes both bring similar things to the table, so I doubt if we'd be interested in Rhodes unless Hooper is on his way out, and then even if we are interested I doubt whether we'll be signing him anyway as others have said. Bit of an interesting one, but does anyone know if Elmander is out of contract with Galatasary? If he is, then I personally think we could do a lot worse and reckon he we might be able to tempt him at this stage of his career even though we have dropped down a division - the Championship is something like the 4/5th best supported league in Europe.
I'd be happy to see Elmander come back again and Adams obviously rates him. No questioning his commitment to the cause and he'd be a handful in the Championship. What is Becchio's contract situation now? He could also make an impact next season.
I'd be against that. We desperately need to shake things up, not keep everything the same as last year.
Off the back of that statement from Royle, here's what I'd say: Will be at NCFC (hopefully) Martin Whittaker Johnson Howson Bunn Hoolahan E.Bennett Becchio Redmond R.Bennett Loza Jo.Murphy Ja.Murphy Rudd Surman Might be at NCFC Ruddy Turner Snodgrass RvW Hooper Pilkington Garrido Olsson Tettey Won't be at NCFC Bassong Fer
Becchio is a proven scorer in this league although where his head is at right now is anyone's guess. I'd rather keep him than invite Elmander back although Neeyul did seem to prefer Elmander to our other striking options for whatever reason that was.
