Any way chaps that was just a couple of days thoughts coming out and a few questions which for me, remain unanswered. I purposefully hadn't dived into the Lambert bid thread because I needed some thinking time on it. Still didn't clear it up.

Here's hoping.

Time to wait and see what the next instalment brings. Come on you Reds! (Saints ones, not scouse ones)

Because it's silly. A lot of other things have happened as well. I don't see the reason for insisting it had to be Cortese.

Are you saying that had Saints finished third in the table Lallana would still want to go simply because Cortese left? Or that had Sunderland put in a bid Lallana would hand in a transfer request because Cortese left? Or if Saints had gotten relegated but Cortese stayed, that Lallana would have been okay going down a level? And if Cortese was so great, then how come during his tenure we were routinely rejected by players like Dimaio, Buttner and Coutinho?

It's just bad conspiracy theory. Thing A happened, and then Thing B happened a little later so let's just connect everything to Thing A.

Oh come on, read between the lines a little. I'm not saying they were loyal to Cortese simply because they liked the guy, I'm saying he convinced them it was best for them. It was a big part of his job; it's hardly a conspiracy theory. When Cortese came in and told us all his ambitions it was pretty much the most exciting thing Saints fans had ever heard from their board. You think it was only the fans who were inspired by that?

When the club changes hands and it feels like an era has ended, it's going to get people thinking "maybe it's time I moved onto something new as well." It's not disillusion, it's not the death of ambition, it's simply the feeling it might be time for change.

@bigadamsport: Update via @BenSmithBBC - #saintsfc told Liverpool they wanted to net 20M from Lallana sale, when rejecting initial bid - #afcb get 25%

I honestly think there is a deliberate attempt to recoup funds and cut high earners whilst presenting the fans with smiling Ralphy. Everything he says in public flies in the face of what Blackmore has been saying about the players not being communicated to. Why would most of the players have felt the need to question the board in public if they had been told what is going on behind the scenes?

Problem with this is why would Krueger, who is a fairly respected guy in hockey and public speaking circles suddenly decide to jump into football and make himself look like a complete idiot? He's completely ruining his reputation this way for no reason.

Unless Krueger was lied to by KL as well?

It's so frustrating. So much noise from the bully boy big clubs and their ass-kissing press, but so little from Saints. It may be that this bid is simply rejected too. Yet I have a horrible feeling.

It might just be that Liebherr has no idea what she's doing. I'm sure she's well intentioned but her CV has nothing on it other than making a big mess at MALI.

Can't really see Liverpool having an issue with that, they'll pay. They're also going to chuck in an Anfield stadium tour for Ralph as £25m won't quite bring in the £20m net we were after. Ralph was quoted as being "giddy with excitement at getting to see a big club with big finances close up."

I believe that I have mentioned this (repeatedly) previously...if not, here it is. I know a guy who is in the national media here in Canada; not on the sports side, but he's quite friendly with a number of the national sportswriters, and has posed questions to a couple of them on my behalf before. Asked what the hockey guys thought of Krueger; paraphrasing, but the answer was that Krueger was a great interview, but really missed his calling in life as an infomercial pitchman, preferably with the product being Ralph Krueger.

He's not lacking in self-belief, and I'm guessing that -- as he was unlikely to ever be more than an assistant coach in the NHL again -- he saw the opportunity for himself to run something big, and had the ego to believe that his hockey background would transfer seamlessly.

Yaaaay.

So based on net figures, if we get 25m for Adam we pocket 18.75m, add the 3.4m for Lambert... Adam and Rickie are worth a combined just over 22m. Ridiculous.

Because he literally has absolutely nothing to lose, his reputation is in ice-hockey, he can preside over the clusterfuck to end all clusterfucks here, slink back off to ice-hockey and no-one is going to care, because guess what, they probably haven't even heard of us and certainly aren't "soccer fans."

Do they honestly believe they'll take this club to a higher level and increase its value higher than it is now? Because if not...

Just

****ing

Sell.
