So they've done **** all since 2011 and will continue to do **** all, we all know it. Yet they want to work with Allam and the biggest stumbling block to that is TG who they are backing and who is Hull's sport and leisure cabinet portfolio holder. <laugh>

You know its more than please or thank you.

You mean you want it to be more than please and thank you.

Facts statements press releases show me some. Heres my arguement. Not ages ago May 2013
http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Brady-hits-Allam-KC-criticism/story-18913799-detail/story.html

HULL City Council leader Steve Brady has today responded to criticism of the authority by Tigers owner Assem Allam.

Dr Allam was quoted in a national newspaper criticising the council in an ongoing dispute over the ownership of the KC Stadium.

But Councillor Brady hit back: “I really do not want to prolong this argument over who said what about the KC Stadium, however I do take exception to some of the statements made by Dr Allam about the council in one of today’s national newspapers.

“I have said to the club that I stick by what I have said before on this.

“If an offer comes in for the KC Stadium then I will put it to a referendum and see what the people of Hull have to say about it.

“Everyone is entitled to an opinion on this.

“To be absolutely clear – there has never been any offer on the table for the KC Stadium. Until there is, we are where we are.”

TG
Mr Geraghty, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, told the Mail the council must protect the interests of all the people who use the stadium and enjoy Hull Fair every year.

He said: "We wanted to clear the air and explain that we have no intention of getting rid of the KC Stadium or the fairground.

"We believe the land is traditionally for the fair and there is no other place we can put it.

"It draws in a million people each year.

"We want to safeguard the other people who use the KC Stadium."

Now you provide me with something.

It isn't about selling it. It's only Allam that thinks he has to own the land for any development to take place.

You mean you want it to be more than please and thank you.

It isn't about selling it. It's only Allam that thinks he has to own the land for any development to take place.

So thats it?? Thats all you've got ****ing hell.

So using your dense ****ing arguement you keep telling us Allam is millions and millions in debt but he should use 20 30 40 million more of his own money on building all this in conjunction with the council while not owning it outright??? With TG as the head of it in a semi independent leisure department?? <doh>
Yes great business proposition. Cant see a single reason why there isnt more local businessmen fighting to jump into that opportunity

Me deliberately missing the point?

That's ironic.

I prefer the symbolic gesture of not just handing them tickets because she's the Mayor. He gave a pile of tickets away to actual workers for the semi, so he's not quite the childish snubber you're painting him to be is he?

Why does the owner and not the elected representatives of the people have to be the one making all the gestures? What gestures has Nadine made?

Happy, I see your point and it is worthy, but, by one, very disconnected, but widely recognised act of civility, he could have honoured more. Did you salute the man?

So to summarise......

One senior Labour councillor, who did not wish to be named published a letter from Hull City 6 weeks after it had been sent to them stating "Many of us are absolutely furious about this. It's an insult to the office of the Lord Mayor."

AA not happy with the council again for not promoting Hull City around before the Final and the club sends them the email.

Arsenal didn't invite their Lord Mayor instead Councillor Fudge's counterpart in Arsenal's home borough of Islington did go to Wembley but as an Arsenal season ticket holder. Councillor Barry Edwards, who is a lifelong Gunners fan, then hosted a civic reception for the club at Islington Town Hall after its 3-2 victory over Hull City. He said: "I was delighted to be able to invite Arsenal in for a cup of tea."

Hull City Council want AA to invest in the developments around the area as they can't be arsed to go and find another one, knowing AA isn't going to invest they will eventually find someone else to fund this, hopefully before 2017.

Or, they will continue waiting for AA with no money coming forward, 2017 gets here and the surrounding areas of the stadium not developed, HCC say it was down to AA and the City of Hull looks like they don't know what they're doing (again) in the nations eyes.

I know it seems quite a simplistic summary but hay ho.

I posted a similar thread as well.

I am so annoyed by this that I even considered sending an open letter to HDM with a request for publication.

"It is about time that Dr Allam and Hull City Council members stopped all of this sniping at each other. Division between the club and the council is destroying the image that both the award of City of Culture and Hull City's excellent season have brought to the City and the Region as a whole.

The Citizens of Hull and the supporters of the football club are sick to death of the petty bickering between businessmen and politicians. Hull has faced struggles to shake off its poor image in the media, but together the club and the Council have both succeeded in gaining world wide acknowledgement for the City, yet both sides seem to be determined to destroy the common bond between the club and the City.

As a supporter of Hull City, I applaud the Allam family for what they have done for the club and yet all of this is tainted by this dispute. Whatever the reason's behind all of this bickering, get over it and start to work together with Hull City Council. Move forward.

Councillors need to represent their wards and the City, they need to understand that they do not paint a very good image of themselves when they continue to fuel the fire of discontent. It is about time that they started to think about resolution rather than recrimination.

If the club is so determined to set itself apart from the City of Hull, do it Dr Allam, move the club out of the boundaries, its your club, but stop and think how it could have been. A city that is on the up for once, with a major employer soon to bring regeneration to the City, and the football club will have no access to it beyond supplying sporting entertainment, Hull Tigers, Hull City Tigers or Hull City AFC, no one will really care as it will be just like going to the cinema.

We all know that the KC lays at the centre of this, the Council need to include the stadium and its environs in its development plan. Travelling fairs are just that, there are plenty of open spaces with better infrastructure for it. It would not make any difference to the people of Hull if it was moved. the Walton Street area is an asset that is simply wasted. You as landlords should be doing all that you can to maximise its potential, yet free tickets for the FA Cup final are the headlines of today.

If neither party can step forward and offer the hand of friendship, just watch as everything that both parties have worked so hard for, falls apart. Disaffected electorate and disillusioned supporters. one common thread, Hull."

Now if someone wants to add to this or change parts of it, I will be happy to sign it and send it.

Haven't read this yet, but Chazz is going to be pissed at the length! <doh>

I'm no expert in business, but surely good business men deal with people they don't like to get a good deal?

Personally I feel uneasy if the KC was sold to Allams. If there was any deal it should be the club and with a clause of not being able to separate the club and the stadium when sold.

From experience I can give an opinion that they do. Also, how, in reality, do you think Allam has amassed his fortune? I doubt everyone he did business with thinks the sun shines out of his arse. He treats us all with contempt; work it out . . .

Happy, I see your point and it is worthy, but, by one, very disconnected, but widely recognised act of civility, he could have honoured more. Did you salute the man?

Yes I did. The HCC can go **** themselves until they apologise, eat some humble pie and start making a LOT more of an effort.

Unless they do, NO ONE will ever come up and stump up the money he has or would. Wouldn't hurt them to swallow their pride. Oh and get rid of TG while they're at it, give him a lesser role he can't **** up.

Maybe TG's only fault was that he didn't treat Allam like a god. I can imagine Mr Allam getting annoyed at the slightest thing.

By the way Happy did you notice that when Allam was talking about his Wembley experience he did not mention the supporters.

Ironic that a quantity of tickets for both Wembley matches were donated by Mr Allam as prizes in a raffle for council employees.

some people wanna still carry on the name change hatred towards AA.
The name isn't changing ppl..
Let's move on shall we?

no matter which way you look at it, it is still the councils fault for not letting AA get the stadium so he can develop the land around it.
"but but he wanted it to be given to him" .......... the council wouldn't even ****ing sell it, given the chance.
