Thats the thing I'm dreading the most. It is so easy to buy rubbish that will keep us here for another 10 years.

I've just been reading a thread on the Pink Un about whether we should get rid of RvW or not.

Why didn't we get a manager in who was nothing to do with City? A new manager could have stood back from the entire squad and seen them with a fresh eye and made some new decisions and had new ideas about how he might shuffle the pack. Adams, through no fault of his own, is tainted by association with the catastrophe of last season. He will get rid of RvW because he is part of a Carrow Road set-up that sees RvW as a failure (including DM, judging by his comments). He will keep Snodgrass because he is part of a Carrow Road set-up that thinks that pushing everything through Snodgrass makes sense. We will get more of the same, but with a bit more heart. I don't think it will work.

    VC - Very well said!

Personally, I would like Snodgrass to leave and play a winger who can/will cross the ball into the box for players such as RvW to score. I got seriously fed up (as I'm sure most other fans did) of watching Snodgrass trying and mostly failing to 'walk the ball into the net!!!!

People have certainly not sat on the fence with this appointment, which is what good debate is all about. We all have an opinion and most of us really care about what's happening and what will happen. IMHO I don't think it's that bad a move, true, Lennon would have bought passion, Malky a bit of championship nous but do they really offer a massive step up from Adams. We are Norwich the championship side, our options are severely restricted. As soon as WBA got rid,Tottenham arsing off Sherwood and Lennon leaving Celtic we were always down the pecking order.

I think it's more about who we manage to maintain on the playing staff rather than the manager we have, people may jump in and say we are more likely to keep players under x, y or z rather than Adams but I'm not convinced. We have already seen several players commit (time will tell if it's true or not) so I for one am starting to think this may just be a shrewd move. Feel free in 3 months to shoot me down. Having said that a fast start is crucial or the vultures will be circling.

Yes I commented yesterday that a good start is crucial but now the dust has settled I also feel more relaxed about the appointment. I feared an exodus of the better players but that does not appear to be happening, I accept that Fer and Bassong will go - so be it, but the core looks solid and that is a good basis to go forward from.

Bassong was a liability and played poorly for virtually all of last season and Fer blew hot and cold. Neither would be severe losses, imho.
Howson and Olsson, on the other hand <yikes>

There is a long time before the season starts in terms of players leaving. At the moment players pledging their future to NCFC is at best, empty rhetoric, lets wait and see what happens.

It's still interesting to try to second-guess who will leave though.

I'm with Cromer in that I wouldn't be too disappointed should Fer and Bassong leave if Olsson and Howson stayed. I'd settle for that.

    Agreed.

If we could get a total of £9-10mil for Snoddy and Ruddy, I'd probably (reluctantly) let them go too.

would think snoddy would bring in at least £6m on his own. probably similar for ruddy.

As do I, as long as it's wholly reinvested. I'd still take any large bid for them very seriously though, they're very important players.

Both under long contracts, don't need to sell so price will need to be very high.
