When we signed Simon Moore it was with a view to him being Marshall's understudy and eventual replacement. I would have seen him stepping over Lewis next season so probably a season too early if Marshie goes now.

More strikers than you can shake a stick at.

I don't suppose Grabban will be coming now. Palace sniffing around there. They have released Gabbidon, Moxey and Parr.

No mention of Le Fondre on Sky Sports News on my phone but I did see Jones signs for Sunderland. Unfortunately its Billy Jones from WBA not our KWJ!!!

This is what's prompted the speculation.......

We're told Adam Le Fondre has signed three-year deal at Cardiff. More details on @SkySportsNews later this morning.

Agreed Swampy - mentioned him too at the time. He was bench sitting all too often at Reading and generally scored when he was given the chance.

Not necessarily being the hardest of workers has been a criticism levelled at him in the past, but he's got an eye for goal and will score - something we've been lacking for a couple of seasons at least.

I'll say it again, if he could have been prised away from Reading in January rather than going for Kenwyne Jones, I reckon we'd have crawled over the line.

agree, thats the reason he isn't an £8m player, possibly a lack of work rate and genuine pace, but work rate is something that you can work on.

what we missed last season was a player with composure in the box, we had one in odemwingie but sold him and he did for stoke what he could have done for us.

£1-2m is a bargain and if we can move on maynard, jones, velinkonja, berget and campbell in all likelihood, then we can move on….

Cheers Sparks, I don't do the tw@tter thingie. <yikes>

I don't care if he signs for Swansea. I can't believe the relegation release will let that happen on the cheap. I'd expect his release to be what we paid for him give or take a million.

That story is just pure 2+2 = 'journalism' as Williams is being linked with a move away though.

Taking into account the club's response to the Mutch rumours I would imagine a similar reply to this one. Although perhaps the club will say nothing as such a rumour is not deserving a reply. There is certainly no way they would get him "on the cheap" as we do not need to sell.

Erm...always a bit suspicious when I see "Polish" to be honest. You see Masky was invited to a Polish theme party by a so called butty...turn up only to find his stripped down motorbike and a rag for each and all! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Can't see it unless we offload Campbell, Maynard, KWJ, Berget and maybe Mason. Like for like replacement for KWJ though - swap maybe, pretty please.

He's a big unit who could ruffle a few defenders' feathers if he puts himself about but strike rate of 1 goal per 4 games (44% of which were in Scotland for Rangers<whistle>) is not great.

I'd rather give Kadeem Harris a go at the Championship defences. He's on our books already, did well on loan at Brentford and always looked good before that with our development squad.

Time to give the young guy a chance - he has pace to burn and can turn opposition defences to run toward their own goal, rather than always facing up the pitch toward ours. We've lacked the ability to get behind the opposition and he's one that can do it.

True Sparks, Kadeem has become another forgotten man. He deserves his chance.

I guess Ole will give them all a go pre-season and then make his judgement.

If he's in Bosnia's team I'll give you the low down after watching him live on Sunday v Argentina..... (shameless I'm off to the World Cup tomorrow plug.....) <ok>

With the midfielder comment I wonder if he's a Medel replacement as much as one for Caulker.
