And this morning Mali defender Molla Wague (great name) who plays for Caen. In the absence of a manager atm I wonder who is doing the chasing - I presume Chester ?
At least Nathan Redmond has followed Ruddy's example by committing himself to City unless the Board says otherwise.
Do you have a link to that story? I can't find anything. Matt Grimes might be interesting. Young playmaker who probably won't cost that much. If we're looking to the lower leagues for playmakers though, I'd be interested in Stefan Scougall myself.
Fer wanted by Van Gaal at Man U? Can't help but think they are putting 2 and 2 together there, but if they do want him then let's have £15m.
Just seen that Marc Albrighton and Nathan Delfoundso have been released by Villa. Anyone think they would be worth signing?
I was thinking that as well, I think Albrighton might have gone a bit stale in the last year or two after a very promising start to his career, but think he would definitely do a job in the Championship. Not so sure about Delfouneso, he was quality for me in Football Manager, but hasn't really shown anything like that ability in real life.
I would take Albrighton in the championship, perhaps need a fresh start. Regarding Wet Sham, they are definately in the market for a LB because they offered a paltry 1.5m alledgely for Cressy, so may be some truth in that.
Seemed to me that Albrighton had an alright season last year but then I only saw a few villa games so I can't really comment. Always seemed a good player and works quite hard. Genuinely surprised that Villa have let him go.
Albrighton was the one I was mainly interested in too. He was on loan half of last season but came back into the villa squad and played well from what I saw. Leicester are rumoured to be interested. Delfouneso could do okay in the championship but he would probably be second or third choice here. The other one I saw was Liam Ridgewell had been released, surely wouldn't be a bad championship cb. Maybe one of the promoted clubs will snap him up though.
Being in Sheffield, I've seen him a couple of times since he joined United in January. Been very impressed.
I thought he was great in Maximum Conviction and Force of Execution but I think his singing career is a bit iffy
The next few week's will be interesting. We are told that Neil Adams will be backed in the transfer market but what do we really need to improve the squad? It was interesting to see what Burnley achieved with a restricted budget and a small squad. What are the lessons we can learn?
New CB to replace Bassong who will surely leave. Possibly another defender too. A creative, rounded midfielder, a creative attacking midfielder, possibly two if Hoolahan goes. Then probably just fill any gaps created. I'd like to see us play 4-1-4-1, something like: Ruddy Martin - Turner - Bennett - Olsson Tettey Redmond- Howson - new player - Surman RvW/Hooper Bench: Bunn, Whittaker, New cb, Johnson, Bennett, Hoolahan, striker Whilst we've got parachute payments I think we should use them to keep the first team strong- Loza, the Murphy's, Rudd, McGeehan and anyone else should be loaned out.
Fox and Nash confirmed as being released. http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/20140523-david-fox-carlo-nash-1571418.aspx I assume this means that Norwich are trying to persuade Pilks to stay otherwise they would have confirmed him now too?
