I'd say we've got a good chance of getting through the group. Italy are strong throughout but Uruguay have strikers and that is it. Provided we can keep the ball, the players selected certainly have the ability, we can outplay them. It'll be a competition with Italy to see who comes top. Top the group, and we'll have the weaker team from group C, come second and we'll probably get Columbia. Either way it isn't disastrous so with this team we could potentially get to the quarter finals which is further than last time. The young guys we've got in the squad can experience being in a quarter final in Brazil, which will help when they become the bigger guys in future tournaments. On the Spain point, yes they're a team of winners. The FA's potential plans will hopefully go some way to rectifying the lack of top home players in the PL when compared to Spain, Italy and Germany.
Agreed, it may actually just prove to be a whole load of nothing. Loaning out players has worked to a point for Spurs so we should definitely carry this on until a better solution comes about. Also, introducing a limited number of non-EU signings per season may help, most of Europe does this so it wouldn't hurt us to do so. That may stem the time of poor South American players in the lower divisions taking up spaces for young English guys
Speaking of World Cup's, not sure where everyone lives but me and my lot will be going to the King James in Cheshunt to watch all England matches, welcome to join us. Great vibe in there, non-stop singing and we usually end up finding a football to have a kick about on the high street (while avoid traffic lol). Though be warned, beer showers are a regular occurrence so clothes you're not fussed about getting soaked are be recommended
Clyne(the bloke from Soton), Flannagan, My Nan, ... okay, I was exaggerating but for me Walker, Johnson and Clyne are streets ahead whilst Flannagan is too, if he plays right back as well as he does left back. In my humble, Smalling is similar in quality to the likes of Ward at Palace and any number of other decent but not great, English fullbacks. Smalling just seems like one of those guys that gets massively overrated just for being a squad player at United and when they leave people suddenly realise your Wes Browns, O'Sheas, Gibsons, Butts aren't acutally any better than the players at lower clubs.

Boss has been touting Pulis as our next manager for a while now. At first I thought he was taking the piss. Then I thought he was trying to wind us all up. Then "that" Liverpool game happened and suddenly, I'm starting to think he has a point. The bloke clearly knows how to get the best out of his players. However, with a squad like ours and with the demands of our fans to play the Tottenham way... not so sure. But I can understand his thinking here for sure. Pulis' odds were stacked heavily against him and Palace stayed up comfortably on a wafer thin, average squad.
Cheers for that chap I was touting Pullis as a saviour to all the clubs in trouble before he went to Palace and I was laughed at for even suggesting his name! then the Media all jumped on the Pullis bandwagon (which I created) . We shouldn't be so quick to assume its a big name we need as our best two premier league managers, Jol & Redknapp had never managed a big club before. Its not about having a name, its about having the right approach.
Yes I agree but I feel the timing isn't right for that kind of appointment now. We can't afford it for a number of reasons.
Martinez. Not a massive name with a world class CV but plays the right football and he's shown he can do it in the prem on a less than stellar budget, twice, not counting what he started at swansea too.
I can't see him leaving Everton after one year. Seems like the loyal type and will see Spurs as too volatile. Everton is steady and safe. He'll get time to build there. At Spurs, one season!
