"Sunderland AFC have agreed terms with Sebastian Larsson and Keiren Westwood, who will both officially sign on July 1."

Just mentioned this on a Larsson thread! Nice one! Well pleased! Think Larsson is a much better signing than either of the Mags 2 new midfielders purely because he is proven in the Premier League! Hope that one doesn't come back to bite me on the arse tho!

I like the look of our potential transfer targets. We've realised we can't keep spending millions upon millions and have looked towards some good squad builders. Larsson is exactly the type of player we need with his set pieces and delivery and Westwood is supposedly a very good keeper who may well be our number 1.

The likes of Gardner, Dongwon, the Man Utd trio and N'Gog all added together with the two confirmed signings equal about the same money we got for Henderson. Very shrewd moves if they're all completed! Then we have money to spend on quality, N'Zogbia for example.

I still think Bruce will spring a surprise on us and go abroad for a striker, similar to Gyan where we signed him totally out of the blue. You get far better value for money elsewhere than in England even if the moves are riskier.

What is good is that others tried to muscle in on these moves and we have fought them off. Gives me a bit more faith in SAFC's persuasiveness and resolve to get who they want. Well done - lets hope it is the start of a glorious transfer window. I'm sure the mags were lining up to have a laugh at us if any deal had fallen through.

Can i say i told you so yet?

Twice i've said i knew transfers were happening (Bent, the legendary thread on 606, and Seb), does that make me the 'new Chris' and an official ITK?

mr-SAFC....Great post and I agree with you about the possible surprise posting, Iam not so sure from abroad though, ive still got this sneaky feeling that Rodellega is the striker that will be coming in to start alongside Gyan. But overall after my post last night about wether to panic or not, I feel alot better and more optimistic after todays signings, would love to see Gardner and Gibson in asap

football is a squad game now marra we know that more than others with all the injuries last season. Elmo will have a role to play at both right back and right mid during the course of the season I would imagine.

Larsson can also play in the centre and if we go witha 4/3/3 or a 4/5/1 however you view it I would imagine Larsson will be on the right of the 3 central midfielders with Sess, Elmo or N'Zog if we sign him to the right of him

there pieces in the jigsaw, lets hope Bruce can piece it together to make it into something that looks like a team.(and it doesn't just fall to bits with the slightest knock)
