Seems they can't agree something about his new contract. We better get a decent rb in if he's off.
 
Possible replacements for Sagna:
Seamus Coleman - Everton ~£8.8 million
My choice. Is fantastic attacking and loves to overlap, something that is always useful. Not as good defensively, but is still young and will improve. Would be fairly pricey after a fantastic season, and might be difficult to convince to join.
Serge Aurier - Toulouse ~£5.7 million
Considered to be very good defensively and decent in attack. Is also very young and can improve a lot. Would probably be competing with Jenkinson if we got him.
Nathaniel Clyne - Southampton ~£6.2 million
Had a decent season, is still young, but is probably not the quality required. Would be competing with Jenkinson for the RB spot.
Pablo Zabaleta - Man City ~£16.5 million
Just as good if not better than Sagna. Would be very expensive and is highly unlikely to happen. He is also getting on a bit, but would give us a few years until Jenkinson is ready. I personally don't think this will happen, even if City do get Sagna.
Micah Richards - Man City ~£10.5 million
Was going to be the next big thing 5 years ago. He has pace, strength and ability, but never quite made it. Is also very injury prone. Would definitely be available if City got Sagna, and can also play CB. But I think his injury problems are just too big a risk for us.

Good post, would make a good thread.

My choice would be Coleman but we'd have to pay top dollar to prize him away from Everton.

Aurier looks like a realistic option, haven't seen much of him but he is highly rated.

Stay well clear of Richards, he's unbelievably injury prone.

Coleman will be very expensive, Everton are notorious for extracting top dollar. 20mn+ i reckon. Aurier seems a good shout, very much in the sagna mold but is a much better crosser.

I would choose Coleman although I think 8 Million is completely unrealistic. He's been the best RB in the league this year.

Everton will want £15 Million +
 
If Sagna is indeed off in the summer we need to get a good replacement in. If he goes to City we need to make an offer for Zabaleta, he has won a few trophies already with City and still has a few years left in him.

Failing that i'm not sure who i'd like to see us bring in, i just know Jenkinson isn't ready to start week in week out yet.

Sides likes City don't sell top players, they build a squad with 25 world class players and adequate cover in each position so if they get an injury/suspension they are not weakened, I'd say there's zero chance of us getting Zabaleta.

City pay extortionate wages to attract and retain the best players, Zabaleta will be quite happy alternating with Sagna and collecting £150k a week.
The only chance we have is if FFP actually does work and clubs like City, Chelsea, PSG and others are forced to work within a budget, then you might see players moving away from City in an attempt to balance the books....

Would be an interesting signing. Top Class player - The guy scores around 1 in 2 from a WF position. (that's alot)

We're expecting a TOP centreforward but maybe Wenger intends to bring in a TOP wing forward instead. For me if we signed him it would probably indicate that Wenger intends to keep Giroud in the CF and get more goals from the wide positions to make up.

Does have a great mixture of pace workrate and power.

But its a very different type of forward line than that which we've been using this season. We've normally used a lopsided front four. Either Walcott or Podolski moves alongside Giroud, whilst 2 of Ozil/Cazorla/Rosicky play in behind. This would open up more space for our midfielders, but we would lose the use of 1 of Cazorla or Ozil each game.

Still, would be a great signing, but I would still like a top forward as well.

Bare minimum imo. He'd be £20+ and Everton are going to have zero interest in selling him. I'd be interested in taking a punt on Chambers at Saints. IMO he's better than Clyne though it's hard to judge after so short a time. He's certainly not looked phased by being chucked in at the deep end and looks to have all attributes to succeed. If he continues in the same vein I can see him attracting suitors a la Luke Shaw. It's a gamble but I think it's an educated one that can play dividends.

Realistically I think we'll end up with Aurier and based on the stories it's no bad thing. I don't know too much about him though.

Regarding Sanchez I think he'd suit us brilliantly. Best of all he'd bring us that much needed pace factor which we're currently missing. Can't see it happening mind!
 
I've been calling for us to sign di Maria and I know a lot of people want a proper winger for the left side of the pitch. Signing Sanchez would fill this void perfectly. He is quick, skillfull and has goals in him. I can also see barca letting him go considering there forward options.

Sanchez plus a joint bid for Martinez and mandzukic from bayern?

I'd be in dream land!
