Matthias Ginter listed as a midfielder is more interesting*. I think he's only played there a couple of times - goes against the idea that they've all been listed by defensive positions. More likely than anything it was just written by some intern who doesn't really give a ****. *and by interesting, I mean slightly less tedious than the rest of the discussion.
Croatia has a good, tough a bit unbalanced squad. We have a few near world-class players in Rakitić, Modrić (both selected in La Liga team of the year), Lovren and Mandžukić. There is also Kovačić from Inter Milan, one of the most promising talents around. Then a number of solid players like Olić(former Bayern player) and Perišić from Wolfsburg, Srna and Da Silva (former Arsenal player) from Sakhtar, Ćorluka from Zenit (former Tottenham player). But we lack strenght in depth and we don't have a good solution for positions like left back (Pranjić from Phanatinaikos, Strinić, defensive midfielder (Vukojević from Dynamo Kiev) and we don't have any wingers except maybe Perišić, so Olić usually pretends to be a winger. Team looks like this. (Pletikosa on goal, plays in Russia, but very reliable keeper, more than 100 appereances for the national team) Srna - Ćorluka - Lovren - Pranjić Vukojević - Modrić Olić - Rakitić - Perišić Mandžukić
Corluka as a CB? Is that a weakness in that team. I seem to remember him being a very slow full back. I may have that wrong.
I wouldn't call any one in the Croatia world class, but then I would say the same for England most probably.
