Sigh. The price of success hey. Gone is the promotion joys and who will we buy, replaced by the threat of loss of the teams quality and figurehead. Roll on 2 weeks time so we can be put out of our collective misery!
Lets just enjoy what we've done and be happy with what we have. We cant change what might or might not happen in the summer. Sunday should be a celebration of a brillinat season not a ruddy wake!
Adam's definitely going. To Brazil. And if he plays well there, the media will have the sort of frenzy we haven't seen since Richard Burton was first linked with Elizabeth Taylor. The only rational response is to ignore it all and wait to see what happens.
He's changed since he played for England..... (Actually there may be truth in Clattenburg's words, sadly.....)
I think the opposite of all of you misery guts. Sounded like he loves saints and wants to stay to me!
Actually I just watched this for the first time and not sure why we're getting collective knickers in a twist. I don't think it sounded bad at all, and I'm a cynical bugger much of the time. Nah, he's fine and seeing what happens, that's all.
Fits in perfectly. Batting away a call is "No, not interested" which is what Reed said would happen. He never said there has been "no contact of any kind" with the club, just with the players. The only way there could be no discussion with the club would be if they stopped answering the phone. Vin
Actually he did say there had been "no enquiries", and I think getting calls about players everyday doesn't quite fit with that! By the way I'm not saying Reed is wrong, it's far more likely that this second-hand account is. He could have been referring to press enquiries, or just have been misquoted entirely.
Away from all the angst, I enjoyed the coverage of the Awards dinner. Nice to get the results live. Didn't think I would watch it, but it somehow stayed on all evening.
Seriously weird awards...I suppose it's based on the shape of a football stadium. Better for Adam if they had been stackable like Tupperware.
Depends on how you look at it, "batting calls away everyday" means to me that they are hoping to keep the players if they can, "no contact of any kind" means that there no current ongoing negotiations with other Clubs for our Players. Doesn't mean it won't happen at all, just at the moment there is no actual action. When the Window opens there will be all sorts of mayhem, rumours and eventually facts, nothing will happen until then.
I don't even think transfers work the way people are imaging IRL, Woodward won't be calling Krueger's office with a x million pound bid. Everyone has a million different agents(/representatives/other euphemisms) talking to each other representing their interests and working out if things can happen or not, at what cost.
